A retreat, this cottage is a small but charming two room plantation green cottage with white trim that sleeps two. A great honeymoon retreat.
Rustic in its simplicity, this cottage was designed in the single wall construction popular during the 1930's and which has been lovingly restored with tropical ceiling fans in each room.
An open air cemented lanai covers most sides of the cottage
The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, table, chairs, a double deep sink, refrigerator, a two gas burner stove, and toaster oven.
Cool Spanish pavers tile the floors throughout. Custom cabinetry is found in both rooms. The indoor shower is attractively lined with alpine slate. A pedestal sink graces the bathroom.
The only bedroom has a queen sized bed, a radio/CD / MP 3 player with a compliment of CD's. There is a flat panel TV connected to cable. There is a DVD player and WIFI internet access.
To adjust you to the island pace and way of life, we have eliminated telephones. Most major cell phone carriers work.
Includes towels and linens.
The laundry area is shared with Rainbow House, with a private entrance giving you access to a tiled laundry area equipped with a washer and dryer.
Located conveniently more or less a block from the beach and town of Hanalei.
If you cancel (for any reason) and we manage to re-rent your unit for exact dates booked & cancelled, you will receive a full refund minus a $100 handling fee.
If we do not manage to re-rent all cancelled dates, we will credit the dates we manage to re-rent minus $100 handling fee.
There is no refund due to inclement weather.
As a Cuban refugee I grew up on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico where I learned to surf. It was surf that brought me to Kaua'i where in 1984 with my brother we founded Kayak Kauai. I love my customers and in 1994 I married one of them and now spend 1/2 the year in Los Angeles with all my feisty girls (it's a matriarchy) and the other half hands on with Kayak Kauai.

Ever since I sailed into Hanalei on a 48 foot ketch, it was my dream to live in Hanalei.
It has been my good fortune to have a fun outdoor adventure business (i.e. KayakKauai.com) but to also be in biking/walking distance of my vacation rental/home and of course, the SURF!
While much of Hawaii is quite beautiful, Hanalei is in a league of it's own.
I would say what I like overall about my property, is not having to get into a car each time I want to go to the beach. My property location is moments away from not only the bay but some great surf. The small town of Hanalei is also in walking distance.
If you end staying at the Cottage, try this:
Wake up and before the cobwebs of sleep are gone, walk in a Zombie like state to the beach, and take a dip in the ocean. It is an electric way to start the day.
If you patronize Kayak Kaua'i, mention you are staying at the Cottage or Rainbow House for a 10% discount off any tour and/or rentals.
Some of the iconic highlights: hiking, sea kayaking or boating the Na Pali Coast; visiting Limahuli Gardens; Surfing Hanalei Bay; bird watching Kilauea Lighhouse; kayaking Wailua River; and sightseeing and/or hiking Koke'e and Waimea Canyon.
