This house, now rebuilt in 2004 with the aim of being a haven of leisure and family holidays, gives thanks to its excellent facilities and location moments of privacy and tranquility in either summer or winter. With up to 6 people (3 rooms for 2 persons, living room, bathroom and living room with kitchenette and dining area) has a pleasant outdoor area with barbecue and wood oven. Is inserted in an area of ??2000m2, located 3km from the Castelo de Bode dam and 13 km from the Templar town of Tomar, having some excellent sun exposure and countryside views. You close in location 2 km from the Sierra, cafes, supermarket, butcher, post office, pharmacy, ATM, have generally all the basics for a great stay. The dam of Castelo de Bode provides all the water sports (skiing, canoeing, rowing, sailing), fishing or simply paradisiacal pleasant reading for a refreshing swim or a good. Everything as described, this place is just soooo loveley - fantastic outdoor dining area, tidy garden, beautiful decor and a quiet location, just what we needed. The cottage was clean and tidy with extra towels and bedding. The owner provided very good details and was very helpful. We arrived very late at night and the person who met us was kind and helpful. All in all hassle free.
You will need a car to get about but it is very well situated with a small town on hand, and the wonderful town of TOMAR not too far away. Excelent area for all types of water sports as is near the Castelo do Bode lake (massive) and the river that flows from the dam. Great area for Cycling with lots of very quiet lanes and roads.
I would definatly recomend this cottage to friends and relatives, I took my parents with us and they were very impressed as well, esp as there are no stairs, walking stick friendly!
Check out the weekly market in Tomar (best place to buy fruit, veg and meat). Convent do Cristo in Tomar is a must (massive castle and convent) there are lots of companies that do kayak river trips down the Rio Zezere to Constancia (very beautiful). And check out the Fluvials (river beaches).
