Casa de Aparicio is located in Centro, the historic, vibrant and magical city center of San Miguel de Allende. Casa de Aparicio offers a tranquil and comfortable respite with its terraced patios, private spaces and tasteful accommodations.
This flower-filled terraced property has 5 Private Guest Casitas and 1 Guestroom. Each Casita is fully outfitted with all the comforts of home...kitchen (stove top, refrigerator, microwave); wonderfully comfortable bed with soft linens and plush pillows; flat-screen Cable TVs, WIFI, free local and international calls, flower-filled patios, and a roof-top terrace with panoramic views.
As you walk out the front door, you are surrounded by cobblestone streets with 16th and 17th century architecture. Enjoy strolling from the front door to the best of shopping and sight seeing, colorful markets, restaurants/cafes, entertainment and art galleries. The El Jardin is only 5 minutes away.
There is so much to enjoy about San Miguel. This preserved World Heritage UNESCO destination has something for everyone! Enjoy creative classes in art, writing, jewelry making, theater, Spanish, and more. Or maybe a guided horse ride or hot air balloon ride is more for you. But, perhaps the best activity, by far, is sitting on a park bench in the El Jardin, with an ice cream in hand, watching all the people walk by and all the festivities go on.
At 6200 elevation, you'll enjoy cool mornings, warmer afternoons, and delightful evenings. The perpetual spring-like weather is wonderful!
International flights arrive at Bajio International (BJX) Airport near Leon, Queretaro Airport (QTO) (90 minute ride) and also at Mexico City (3.5 bus ride), making San Miguel easily accessible to all. I came from New Jersey where I was a hospice social worker and psychotherapist. Like so many before me, and since, I fell in love with San Miguel. From the moment I arrived I felt the warmth of the Mexican people and ex-pats making San Miguel their home. After renting for a while I decided that this was where I wanted to be. I love meeting new people and this town is full of them! I meet even more by having guests staying with me at Casa de Aparicio.
Pat Carter Robinson (Proprietor) & (Admin Personnel) purchased this apartment in 2006
The joy that most people feel being in San Miguel was a major drawing point. When I first arrived by bus from Mexico City to do an intensive language course while staying with a Mexican family I experienced such a feeling of joy on the bus. I realized that there was no other place I'd rather be at that moment. (I was in the front seat so that may have had something to do with it). My positive feelings continued each of the 3 times I revisited. Then I decided to take the plunge and buy this property.
This question is very easy. No where else could I meet such a diverse and interesting group of people. And they are my guests!!!!! I can't recall anyone who was disagreeable. That is saying a lot after 6 years. The town is chock full of people who have travelled the world and as a result are quite stimulating to converse with. In addition to my guests this is the easiest place to meet others. Just go to the jardin, sit on a bench and you will acquire instant friendship. Where else can you do that?
I retired in May and arrived at Casa de Aparicio Casita #4 on July 5, 2012 and stayed until August 31, 2012. My goal was to unwind, relax, enjoy delightful weather and delicious food. Mission accomplished! I was delighted in my accomaditions and the warm hospitality extend by the owner Pat. I also enjoyed meeting the other interesting guests who gravitate to Casa de Aparicio. I highly recommend a short or longterm stay at Casa De Apraicio!
My family and I had the pleasure of spending a month in casita #3. Pat the owner was very warm and welcoming and always available and very responsive to our needs. We were extremely comfortable in our tastefully decorated, delightful casita, and the grounds are so beautiful and relaxing. The location is very central, an enjoyable short walk to most sights, very easy to get around. San Miguel is awesome and we will definitely be back and stay at Casa de Aparicio. Thank you, Pat!
I recently spent the month of April in San Miguel and was thrilled with my stay at Casa de Aparicio. At the onset, owner Pat, was most hospitable and hosted a little cocktail party for her guests to become acquainted with each other. She lives on the top tier of the property and is always available for any need or just conversation. The website photos clearly tell the story of Casa de Aparicio . . . colorful, beautiful flora and comfortable accommodations. I stayed in Casita #3 and thoroughly enjoyed the morning sun at my patio as I had my coffee with the surrounding flowers and the birds in the trees. And, the location of the property is superb, tucked into a quiet neighborhood, yet only blocks from all that San Miguel has to offer . . . the Churches, the Jardin, the Mercado, shopping, restaurants & galleries and the many fiestas. This was my 5th visit to San Miguel and the 1st of what I hope will be future stays at Casa de Aparicio. I truly found my “home away from home” thanks to Pat, her staff and the guests.
The location is perfect! The walk from Casa de Aparicio to the Jardin, restaurants, shops and mercados only takes minutes and is nearly flat. Even though the Casa is in the Centro, it is also in an authentic Mexican residential neighborhood. Try greeting the Mexican neighbors with “Buenos dias” in the morning for a warm and friendly response!
The sounds of the neighborhood are enchanting: roosters crowing, church bells ringing, children playing and music drifting in the air. The clanking of a bell to announce the trash collection adds to the cacophony. The sounds of fiestas and the sights and sounds of fireworks add even more.
The views are lovely from the private multileveled sitting areas. There is a dramatic view from the shared rooftop where sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. The terraced patio garden contains beautiful shrubs, plants, vines and flowers throughout that support birds, butterflies, hummingbirds and dragonflies.
Everything on the website about Casa de Apricio is true and even better than stated. Our stay was a wondrous and magical experience!
I was lucky enough to spend a month at Casa Aparicio in April/May 2011. What a wonderful experience! The casitas are clean, comfortable and colorfully decorated. I was especially impressed and grateful to the onsite owner of the property who went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable and content. I will definitely recommend this peaceful setting and perfect location to all of my friends and am looking forward to returning next year.
I am enjoying a 3-month stay in SMA, but the house I rent is not right in el centro (town), so when a friend came to visit from the states, we stayed at Casa de Aparicio for five days. I had personally visited many, many hotels in town for his visit, and by far this property was the most serene and beautiful, and the best value for the money....with all the comforts of home(e.g. flat screen TV, free internet, Vonage unlimited calling, etc) in a very traditional setting. I was surprised to find that even the sheets were of the highest quality of any U.S. hotel! The casitas are all as charming and well-appointed as the photos depict; those of the exterior, however, cannot do the spacious, private grounds justice! As lovely as all the guest casitas are, the grounds with the multi-level decks, patios, flowers and lighting was my favorite part, and with each casita having a private patio, it's easy to enjoy it all! I will be coming back to SMA in the future, and plan on staying at Casa de Aparicio....but next time, booking for a month or more!
