Home is completely stocked with linens, paper goods, and is immaculately clean.

The Seawall is a Wonderful Place to Stay!

The pictures on this listing give an accurate representation of what to expect. The house is extremely clean and very comfortable. The views are fabulous and being able to sleep with the sound of the surf on the shore is exquisite. The area is quiet and secluded, but there are amenities within easy driving distance.
No negatives whatsoever to report.
One extreme positive to report is that the owner accommodated our very late arrival (numerous delays in our flights from Iowa). I won't say how late it was when we arrived because I don't want Bill put on the spot to do this again--but it was LATE and Bill was waiting patiently to welcome us for your stay.
Thanks so much for a wonderful week.

The Seawall - A Lovely Place to Stay

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at The Seawall. It was the perfect choice! The location of The Seawall couldn't be better. It was extremely private, incredible views to wake up to every morning, five minutes to the perfect little town (Southwest Harbor), twenty five minutes to Bar Harbor, and the entrance to Acadia National Park is right up the road.
I highly recommend this property!

Great family vacation

Seawall was a perfect base camp for my family. We have three children and wanted a space that was quiet and on the water. The quiet side of Desert Island was perfect. We biked, hiked, sailed and kayaked and found the home a wonderful place to be. The home is comfortable, warm and relaxing. Hard to beat the views off the back porch. The outdoor fire and cooking area is a great place for a family to recount each day's adventures. We are contemplating a return in 2012. If you prefer being on the water in a quiet, picturesque setting on the Maine coast that is easily accessible to the many offerings in the area you would enjoy a stay at Seawall. Our family had a great stay.

Completely at Home

This review is a bit late in coming but I can honestly say that after three different trips to Bill's house there is no other place that is so welcoming and comfortable. My wife and I have taken friends along, our children (with granchild); but the best is the week we spent just the two of us! We cooked lobster out by the firepit along with a nice bottle of wine; we grilled steaks and enjoyed on the deck with a nice bottle of wine; we prepared a wonderful meal of crabcakes and invited the best couple in Maine over for dinner and they brought a nice bottle of wine!
If you want to get away, relax, and rejuvinate your soul with the ebb and flow of the tides, then Seawall is the place!
Thanks Bill and we hope to see you again soon!

Owner's Response: Doug and Linda are great folks living in the great State of South Carolina, they are a huge part of my guestbook here at THE SEAWALL, Doug knows how to handle the racoons, he beat them up so bad they never have returned. Unfortunately these special people couldn't make it this year, but i expect that I will see them in the near future. Best regards, and thanks for leaving me some of your awesome crabcakes in the freezer !

Hard to imagine what could be better!

We just returned from a week at this wonderful home and miss it already. In a word, it's perfect. The location can't be beat. Right on the ocean - seawall, private, Acadia park, quiet side of Mt. Desert. What more could one ask for? Well, how about an adorable home - perfect size for our family (we had 4 adults and 2 children). The kitchen is great and Bill has thought of all the extras. The home was clean and nicely decorated. We so enjoyed the fire pit on the beach and the amazing views from the deck - even two baby deer and their mother visited us. We can not wait to come back. Bill was so nice and we appreciate him sharing his home. A vacation we will always treasure!
Owner's Response: Tracy and her family were a pleasure to have visit. I was impressed how they treated my home, ,like it was there own. The weather was exceptional during there stay, but it really doesn't matter what the weather is like at THE SEAWALL, the sea changes every minute like a symphony and always a comforting breeze.
