Andrew spent his happy childhood holidays in North Berwick and over 40 years later the couple still, attracted to its unique charm were able to return to invest in this glorious Victorian property. When it came on the market the location & opportunity were too good to miss !

Based in the North West of England, Joanna is a barrister-at-law and Andrew runs his own business consultancy.

Perfect apartment in a perfect location, Marine Lodge really is home from home and more, from the elegant decor to the huge spacious rooms and wood burning stove, every little detail has been thought of.
Situated on the Hight Street, close to the beach, shops and restaurants but yet extremely peaceful of an evening.
Would highly recommend, the booking procedure with Andrew was simple and straightforward and Gordon was there on our arrival to welcome us which was lovely.
We visit North Berwick twice a year and luckily for us our usual place was fully booked and so we found this little gem, so glad we did.

The property is welcoming, well appointed and maintained. Location is equally good sea views and ideally placed for the beach, the golf course, the restaurants and shops - what more can you want - a log fire? It has got that as well!

Marine Lodge was a perfect base for our break.

All the way from the initial contact on booking to the follow up after our visit we found everything regarding our stay to be of the highest standard. Marine Lodge is a grand looking building from the outside and inside does not disappoint. We felt very much at home after a genuinely warm welcome from Gordon. We will hopefully return to Marine Lodge again in the not too distant future , to play some more golf courses in the area and sample some more of the local cuisine .

For the golfers reading this review North Berwick West Links is a MUST play ! Very friendly and ranked in the top 100 courses in the world...and its only a wedge for Marine Lodge.

This accomodation has the WOW factor!

We arrived and Gordon showed us around and was very hospitable. The accomodation more than met our needs and we will be returning in late February.

The beautiful golf & beach house apartment which is centrally located on Westgate, just beyond the High Street and near the Blenheim is a mere hop, skip and a jump from the West Beach and the First Tee of famous, historic North Berwick West Links. The striking apartment is a great location for all sports enthusiasts:- cyclists, surfers, yachtsmen, golfers, tennis players and fishermen. Also a great location and short 10 minute walk to those attending weddings at Macdonlads Marine Hotel. It is also a great place to stay for long Winter weekends for Golf and International Rugby matches, held at nearby Murrayfield, Edinburgh, where Scotland plays.

In 2014 it can provide a Great seaside retreat and location for the Rugby Internationals at Murrayfield where Scotland play (within an hour), The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and Ryder Cup Golf 2014, (Both one hour, 30 minutes away approx.).

All well known amenities are within a short walk :- the Seabird centre, the old harbour, the beaches and the high street with its many shops, cafes and restaurants. North Berwick has hosted national sailing championships frequently in several classes, whilst the West Putting Green is a firm family favourite, and a 'must do' on your list.

On the doorstep of North Berwick's West Links and, around the corner, walk to the nearby West Putting Green signaled by a statue of the famous Ben Sayers. Just a stone's throw from Westgate Gallery with its Orangery restaurant and cafe, it's again a short walk to North Berwick Railway station.
