The Grounds: Absolutely beautiful luxury stone villa with heated pool & superb panoramic views of the immense valley & Luberon Mountains. The well-tended, private gardens are filled with lavender, oleander & roses. There are ancient stone walls, olive trees, & mature cypresses. The large stone table is shaded by a pergola of thick vines and overlooks the pool & the view. Although the villa is situated amidst very private grounds & off by itself, you are a one minute stroll into the village.
The Villa: Luxury villa, built all on one level, opens to the gardens & view through three sets of French doors. The villa is spacious & bright with ancient terra cotta floors & high, beamed ceilings. All of the furnishings & linens are of the highest quality. The 3 bedrooms all have crisp, fresh linens & excellent privacy.
The Location: In the heart of Provence, 4 kilometers from Gordes. the location is the most sought after in the region.
We are frequent renters of beautiful homes in fabulous locations and have very high standards regarding the properties we stay in. This home is absolutely terrific in almost every way. The view is simply one of the best you can have in the Luberon Valley, the home is clean, well-cared for and very nicely furnished. The art work is spectacular (not an exaggeration, the owner is a noted artist and his paintings adorn the home) and the owner is extremely pleasant to deal with; reasonable, thorough and very customer-oriented. We stayed here for 5 weeks and will be returning for another 5 weeks because we loved it so much. You simply cannot go wrong with this beautiful home and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to rent a first-rate property in a stunning setting.
This place was everything that was described -- even better. Tastefully furnished throughout, with a kitchen that had everything to make a gourmet meal easy to prepare. Lovely view and heated pool let us spend as much time outside (or more) than we did inside. Very private , but was able to walk into the village every morning for fresh croissants and bread. Owners very kind and accomodating. I would highly recommend to all my friends this lovely home.
This is a delightful and private property sitting on a hill. The villa was spotless and well equipped with high quality appliances and furnishings. We stayed with two children, 8 & 10, and the pool was perfect for them and the road cycling in the area is sensational. The surrounding villages are easy to reach and the frequent markets makes food shopping easy and fun. I would recommend this property and the general location to others.
Outdoor food & antique markets: Every day in nearby villages, you'll find superb Provencal produce, olive oils, wines, cheeses, breads. Antique art objects, furniture & linens.
Restaurants: We are located within minutes to dozens of wonderful restaurants. They range from the two Michelin starred fine restaurants in our village to great bistros, simple farmhouses & cafes. There is even a restaurant in the organic butcher shop & it's terrific (wait until you see his wine cellar).
Sightseeing: We are in the heart of the famous historic hilltowns of Provence. Also there are Roman ruins, bridges & excavations. You are not far from Avignon, St Remy, & Aix en Provence.
Activities: Tennis, ballooning, boules, hiking & horseback riding are all right in our village. Golf, kayaking & biking are nearby. Music, opera & theater festivals in nearby towns.
Other Activities: Hot Air Ballooning, Kayaking
