Beach, Beach, Beach: 1st Beach or Easton's Beach: 200 yards from house: Concession stand, outdoor showers, old fashion Carousel, Discovery Museum, changing cabanas, play ground w/ picnic tables, parking area, volley ball nets, skate board park, music concerts during Summer months every Tues night, Thurs night family night w/ kids activities. 2nd Beach or Sachuest Beach (spectacular beach with a concession stand & showers); Sachuest National Park (hiking trails & nature center)& Norman Bird Sanctuary (hiking trails, nature center)are only 3 mins drive. 3rd Beach: Located facing Sakonet Point. A calm beach perfect for small children. A boat ramp, sailboat and kayak rentals make third beach a perfect option on windy days. Newport harbor front is a nice 2 mile walk.

Our daughter was getting married in Newport. My other children and niece thought it would be great to rent a house together..They went on line around a year ago and found this great house.
Jim,Jack and their wives were very helpful with the questions that I asked throughout the year.
We all loved the location--near to Flo's,The Atlantic Beach Club,pizza,shops and the beach.
Fourteen of us fit quite well in this wonderful home.

Great Place for Anyone!!

Labor Day weekend wedding celebration. We had 14 ppl, plenty of space for all, great wrap around porch, easy access to the beach, great yard for activities. Very responsive owners, we had an issue w/ dishwasher and they responded in a timely manner and were very easy to deal with through the entire process. Would recommend for any large groups!!

A Great Time Was Had By All

Everything about the house was great.
The location: within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, bars, convenience stores and the famous cliff walk; also within a few minute drive of the Newport mansions, downtown, and Tennis Hall of Fame.
The spaciousness: three large rooms downstairs, including a kitchen with ample glasses and dinnerware, and six comfortable bedrooms upstairs; a beautiful wrap around porch for relaxing & partying, and a good size back yard for the kids.
The atmosphere: clearly the owner has a personal attachment to the house with family photos everywhere and an obvious care for the maintenance and cleanliness of the property.
If I needed to rent in the Newport area again, I'd make sure I scheduled my trip so I could again rent the Hedgegate property.

This house was the best property we have ever rented. Location wise, it was perfect, walk to easton's beach and the Atlantic Beach Club, restaraunts, hardware, groceries and cumberland farms are all close by. the house itself is so adorable, filled with charm and history and a wonderful setting and property. The sunsets are gorgeous and the owners are wonderful. This is a must stay whether with family or with friends. You will love it. Being a realtor, I am somewhat picky but have absolutely so complaints.

Amazing classic home with great location

I rented the house for a week and my group of friends had a more than pleasurable stay. The house itself is a beautiful building, and I think everyone fell in love with the wrap around porch and with the backyard.

It is located right next to the beach, many great restaurants, and is also within walking distance of downtown Newport. We also found it to be a great location for fun bike rides to different parts of the area.

The owner was very helpful in all matters.
