This large home in Breckenridge is within walking distance of restaurants, shops and shuttles to the mountains. The view of Peaks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 from the front of the house is truly unmatched, no matter the season. This home, originally built in the 1960s, was remodeled in the summer of 2002, retaining some of its original charm while updating many of the bedrooms and baths with modern finishes. The living room has a 50' flat screen television with DVD/VCR, and the great room has multiple areas where guests can gather to eat, play games and/or watch TV. The driveway provides covered parking for two cars plus ample space for additional vehicles.

The half-acre lot offers seclusion while being just three blocks off Main Street. This property is within a block of a shuttle stop to the ski mountain, or four blocks to the gondola, and in all other seasons, you may never use your car, because everything in town is just steps away.

Amid the pines in the rear of the house is a large hot tub, as well as a BBQ grill and a disc golf basket with plenty of land surrounding it to create several holes of your own design.

Breckenridge is a 150 year old Victorian mining town - as opposed to other ski resorts, Breckenridge is truly a real town. It has more night life than anywhere else in Summit County, with over 200 restaurants and shops. Besides the usual skiing in winter and hiking and biking in summer, Breckenridge offers a summer music festival with orchestral performances from classical to contemporary music as well as other festivals appealing to every age group most weekends over the course of the summer.

Perfect location in Breckenridge for the summer

This was the perfect house for our extended family, nine adults and four toddlers.Each family had their own bathroom and bedroom.
Location was perfect, as everyone could go off on their own to the local park or downtown Breckenridge. Large yard for the children to play safely.
House was well equipped, warm and cozy. I would describe the home as rustic, somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable. We plan to return next summer.

Although the house was worn, poorly maintained, and in need of deep cleaning the location is convenient and within walking distance of amenities. Views and hot tub were nice. We cleaned shower mold, cobwebs, filthy grill,repaired some broken towel racks but also found gross oven with no cleaning supplies and no operational vacuum. Linen shelf is falling of the wall and refrigerator shelves are missing. Experienced numerous plumbing problems ( sewage back up, leaking toilets and dripping showers) House is ok for three couples with children at maximum. One bath is actually a laundry. There is no deck and no place to get away. House was not ready when we arrived, so the local property manager cleaned the worst problems and made the beds and we got in a couple of hours late. The house was covered with a thick layer of dust and had cobwebs in many corners. All in all, not a pleasant experience.

We genuinely work very hard to provide a clean and comfortable home-away-from-home for our guests and we take these comments to heart as we always strive to improve wherever we can.
Cleanliness is usually the top compliment we receive as feedback, and I know the unfortunate tight turnaround from the last group rental (a very high-maintenance one at that) created a negative start to your stay. These back-to-back cleanings always stretch our resources and we apologize the inconvenience it caused your group right from the start, likely coloring your perception of the house for the length of your stay. That said, we will always seek to set a very high standard for overall cleanliness, so this only redoubles our efforts in that regard.
With regard to the structural/design complaints, we feel that the quirkiness of the house is actually one of its charms, since the classic A-frame style affords several unique room layouts. This house has 6 bedrooms, 4 of which have queen beds and other 2 bedrooms have 2 single beds each. By that math, there are any number of guest combinations, but the house easily accommodates 12 guests. As for decks, we are quite proud of the huge lot the house is on, giving guests ample outdoor space, especially in the summer months, for all kinds of recreation. The deck is not huge, but runs across the front of the house with amazing views.
All of that said, modernizing some of the unique aspects of the home are already in the renovation plans starting in August, including more bedrooms, common areas and enlarging deck and the kitchen, equipping it with all new appliances
I have always personally booked all guests for both our Breckenridge properties and I work closely with them throughout the process. I do this because I am the owner and I want to be a familiar contact if ever anything goes wrong. I wish this reviewer had contacted me directly and early (14-day stay), rather than reading them in a negative review on a public site long after any of those issues can be resolved. We have a local caretaker who can help most of the time, but we also have family in Denver and various maintenance people we can call to fix or clean as needed. Please give us that early chance to make the rest of your stay enjoyable. We love our home - in fact, we love being guests in our home - and we want you to enjoy it as much as we do.

Great home, Great location, and Great experience! Highly Recommended!

We loved our stay at this home, especially since it was a wonderful family ski trip to celebrate my birthday! Everything was in order and as expected. This home housed 12 people very well without feeling cramped at all. We loved the hot-tub and the heated mat leading from the door to it. We were able to walk everywhere and rarely took our vehicles. Main street, restaurants, shopping opportunities, and the gondola were all within walking distance. Also on several nights, we were visited by two foxes right in front of the huge viewing window in the great room.

The owner (Sarajane) was a pleasure to work with as well as very prompt with phone calls and emails. Overall, it was a great experience and we would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone looking to have a great time in Breck. Thanks again!

Very nice location, homey and comfortable!!

Really enjoyed staying at this home in Breckenridge. We had 10-12 people staying and was very comfortable. The house was very tidy and had just about anything we could need there for us to use. The hot tub was not working when we arrived but the caretaker got it working within a few hours. Definitely suggest this property to others.

Great Home

This is the second year we have used a McWillliams House. This is the smaller of the two and the views are out of sight. Hot tub is just outside the back door. The house just fit our needs. Everything you need is in the house. I had no complaints from anyone. All six familys love this house. Space to be on your on or room enough for everyone to play card games, puzzles or just what ever. This house is so close to everything. You can not say enough about this house and location. Highly recommend this house for summer or winter.
