Gainesville Vacation Rental house

This quaint and "home away from home" log cabin provided me and my family the serenity and peace and quiet that we were seeking during our vacation. We were visiting Florida to celebrate my grandmother's 72nd birthday and this log cabin was about 30 minutes away from her home. After the hustle and bustle of celebrating and socializing with friends and family, it was great to return to the "Hawthorne Haven" and relax in the hot tub while listening to the sounds of crickets and other various nocturnal animals. As soon as we entered the home, we didn't feel like we were renting it at all. The log cabin had a nice "welcome home and make yourself at home" vibe. The pool was also a nice surprise and cooled us down after a hot day in the sunny Floridian weather. The hot tub and pool was no the only bodies of water on the property. There was access to the lake a couple of steps away from the home and the view was absolutely gorgeous. I would love to go back during the summer time to really take advantage of the boating and other watersport activities. The owner is very responsive and prompt with inquiries and questions from potential renters. The property was well maintained and very unique. I enjoyed the various pictures and art work throughout the home. There are rules to follow and "reminders" sprinkled throughout the home so if you are a rebel or don't abide by rules, then you may want to reconsider. This home is in a very small town, with no attractions and very little restaurants. Gainesville, FL is the closest town which is about 30 minutes away and has most the restaurants, malls, and grocery stores.

My family came from all over the US for a wedding in nearby Gainesville and loved the place. The house is about an easy 20 minute drive to UF campus and offered a perfect peaceful balance to busy wedding preparations. The photos do not capture how large the home is with a vaulted ceiling and two full baths; one upstairs and one down... there was plenty of room for 8 of us! We only needed our food and paper goods which were available in the nearby community of Hawthorne. The kitchen had every item we needed or wanted! The pool and the hot tub were enclosed in a large screened area off the kitchen and we spent hours lounging and visiting outside. Perfect. The lighted wooded walk to the lake was a wonderland of vegetation leading to a peaceful lake with gorgeous sunsets. When I had a question, the owner responded quickly and appropriately - he provided excellent customer service. I would most definitely recommend this home to a friend or stranger! I even hope to return to it some day.

My family had a great time at the cabin. So relaxing to go sit out on the dock in the evening and catch fish while you enjoy a gorgeous sunset. At night, sitting out by the pool while you listened to owls and other wild life was an adventure itself! We look forward to staying here again in the winter months when the bass will be more active.
