Spacious, comfortable apartment, near old town, river and mountains

The owner's comfortable holiday flat is on the 2nd floor of a small block. It is a spacious, sunny flat with separate bedroom and kitchen and an area of approximately 60 sq m. Newly furnished; the bedroom has a king size bed, plenty of storage space, bedside cabinets and reading lamps. The living/dining room has a comfortable seating area and dining table with spaces for 4 people. The sofa can be used as a bed settee to accommodate 2 extra guests. The apartment has wooden floors throughout. The large well-equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer, oven with 4 ringed hob, microwave, dishwasher and toaster. The bathroom has a walk-in shower unit with tiled floor and walls. The sunny balcony overlooks lovely gardens. You can spend the whole day relaxing with a book in the sun as the balcony basks in sunshine from early in the morning until early in the evening. There is an underground car park which is accessible from the flat by a lift or staircase. There is also secure storage for bicycles.

Apartment is located in a quiet residential street leading from the historic old town out into the mountains. You can take a 15 minute stroll along the bubbling river into town. Freiburg has a picturesque old town with regular markets in the Munsterplatz.. There is a thriving cultural centre with frequent concerts and theatrical performances and many cafes and restaurants. Hiking and mountain trails into the Black Forest are close by. Trams to the city centre, railway and bus stations are a short walk away. You can take high speed trains throughout the region to Basel (Switzerland) for International flights, Strasbourg (France) and Karlsruhe. Regional trains go high into the Black Forest - no need for a car! Attractions include; skiing, wine festivals, Christmas markets, Europa Park, Baden Baden, beautiful lakes and scenery and the highest waterfall in Germany at Todtnau.

The flat is as described, nice big lounge/dinner and fully serviceable kitchen and bathroom with a good size bedroom.
All usual items of crockery, linen etc are provided.
We found the flat to be clean and well appointed.
Very friendly and helpful owners and there is a local representative if the need arises.

The flat is a quiet area around 15 mins walk from town centre and has its own garage parking which is really useful as on-street parking is difficult.

There is a small balcony of which we made daily use for meals and just sitting at night trying the different local obstler.

There is a very good supermarket nearby with an excellent selection of local Baden wines as well as several local restaurants and bars.

Freiburg is a lovely city as a base for a holiday in the Black Forest and in early July it holds the Freiburg Wine Festival around the Cathedral, for additional opportunities for drinking.

We stayed 11 nights and would definitely highly recommend and would be our first choice for a return to Freiburg.

We found this apartment to be everything we were promised and more. Besides being comfortable, conveniently located and wonderfully clean we were surprised to find:
Free Wi-Fi, coffee, tea, condiments, dishwashing liquid and laundry soap, this was indeed an unexpected bonus.
In addition we were met by a very friendly Gentleman who showed us around and gave us directions to shops and restaurants etc.

We stayed at this charming apartment for 6 nights and enjoyed our stay.
the apartment is very well located, a short walking distance to the old city, easy access to the highways. The neighborhood is quiet. The apartment itself is tastefully furnished, clean and a real home away from home.
Next time we're in Freiburg we will certainly book this place again.
