Our charming three bedroom cottage is located in Destin's Crystal Beach community. Conveniently located just one and one-half blocks from the pristine Emerald Coast beach. It is an easy walk and there are no busy streets to cross. With 20-foot high vaulted ceilings and a retractable wall of glass overlooking our private pool, our home allows the outside to become part of your everyday living environment. Every room's has ceiling fans and there is one TV/VCR/DVD in each bedroom! Visit with the neighbors on the front porch Adirondack chairs, or if you prefer, enjoy the privacy of the secluded backyard.

The Great Escape is a wonderful retreat for families and couples. The contemporary decor and open floor plan allow you to relax in the comfort of our home. Within walking distance to many restaurants, great shopping and activities, you will love our home! The location is convenient to Destin Commons, Big Kahuna Water Theme Park, and various other local attractions.

Amenities: Private pool (heated seasonally for nominal charge), air conditioning, Cable TV, VCR, stereo, CD player, fully equipped kitchen, blender, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, ice maker, cooking utensils provided, linens (beach and bath) provided, full size washer and dryer, gas grill, iron & ironing board, outdoor Adirondack chairs and dining set, pool floats, pack ‘n play and booster seats for ages 6 months and up.

Notes: Our home is fully equipped with everything you'll need to make it your home away from home! Our master bedroom has a king size bed, large closet and fabulous master bath with a double vanity and oversized shower with 2 shower heads! Atrium doors look directly out on your private pool, which is enclosed by a 6' high privacy fence. The other guest room has a queen bed, large closet and is adjacent to the front porch and your own quiet area. The third room is for the kids! Two sets of twin bunk beds makes this room ideal for the kids. It is equipped with a TV/DVD so the kids can get away and relax. If you need extra sleeping, we have a very comfortable queen size sleeper sofa in the living area. For the littlest ones, we have a pack 'n play and a booster seat. We also provide many pool floats, noodles, sand buckets, and numerous toys. The smallest details have not been overlooked. You will love your stay at The Great Escape!

Nancy, thanks for allowing us to make such good memories at "The Great Escape". Your home was so lovely - I loved the arrangement where the family could enjoy the togetherness and yet do their own thing. The kids loved the pool while the adults enjoyed cooking out on the covered porch or relaxing on the front porch reading a book.
The location of the home is great, close enough to the beach that the children can walk there safely and also close to some great resturants and shopping.
With pictures of your lovely family sitting around, it made for such a friendly environment that you felt like you were visiting relatives.
We'll definitely return to the "Great Escape". Maybe next time, I can bring my great-great grandchildren along
with my 5 greats.

great escape will not disappoint

This is our second time staying is this charming house. We stayed one week and all I can say is I did not want to go back home. Clean, inviting,everything you could want this house has it. The beach is a block and half away easy walk. Nancy is so easy to work with and quick to respond. The jasime out back was heavenly. Our dog loved the grass area out back and no steps to climb. We will be back soon.

The Great Escape was all we wanted and more to just chill out and relax. The cottage was clean, well-supplied and the location was ideal!! The owner was a gem to work with and anwsered all our questions and concerns. Charter boat fishing headed the top of my husband's list along with pontoon rides and eating at Dewey Destins! We were dragging our feet when it came time to leave the Great Escape but we will be back!!

Very Homey!

We spent our Christmas break here with my 20 year old daughter and a friend. It was a wonderful experience! The owner and manager are great to work with and very helpful. The home is in a perfect location. You don't have to drive anywhere. Spend the day on the beach and walk to the little cafe to grab a bite. Or if you want to shop, you are also within walking distance to strip malls and Destin Commons. We will definitely think about visiting again. The pool is not very big, but it is refreshing to have there to jump in. It was wonderful being able to take our little dogs with us also!

The Great Escape Was Perfection

The home was clean, well maintained, and nicely stocked with kitchen appliances, dishes, and tools. There is a good gas grill in the pool area. The pool is a very small but well maintained, patio furniture is abundant and GREAT PRIVACY (unmatched)!!! We slept nicely and rose each day to prepare breakfast , walk on the beach, and enjoy the pool/grill. It was a great place to escape to for total privacy and located perfectly close to beach and local amenities (restaurants/grocery/shopping). We went for a long needed second honeymoon . The best part was that we were able to bring our little bichon frise playmate with us. Perfection.
