Stone house in a delightfully restored hamlet, with pool, wellness centre, café

Lucici Village is an absolutely wonderful place – the restoration of an entire ruined hamlet only 4km from the sea, but already in the gently sloping foothills of Mount Orien. The village offers a view like no other, where the verdant hills tumble down into the sparking blue entrance of the Bay of Kotor. Meticulous effort has been taken to rebuild the houses in the authentic style, using local materials and traditional techniques. The result captures the essence of the Mediterranean in times gone by and makes for a perfectly idyllic holiday spot.

In the heart of the village, the main swimming pool has an infinity edge with fantastic views down the valley to the open mouth of the Bay of Kotor. Next to the pool are the café and wellness centre. If the setting is not relaxing enough, perhaps the sauna, steam room or a massage treatment will do the trick.

Just 4km from the bustling resort town of Herceg Novi and less than 30 minutes drive from Dubrovnik airport, getting to Lucici Village could not be easier. The location makes for the perfect base from which to explore the Montenegro coast, though with the views, atmosphere and facilities at Lucici Village, you may not want to leave at all.

In the main house, the ground floor features an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, with a handsome interior staircase providing access to an upper living area, bedroom and bathroom. The annex includes an additional bedroom, dressing room and en-suite shower room. All the main rooms are air-conditioned. There is a substantial vine-covered terrace off the first floor, perfect for al-fresco dining and keeping an eye on which boats are entering the Bay.

At the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, opposite the open Adriatic, the verdant town of Herceg Novi is surrounded by ancient walls and with two 600 year-old fortresses. Moving away from Herceg Novi towards Kotor you pass a string of traditional waterside fishing villages such as Djenovici and Baosici the bay unfolds. As well as its beautiful old town, Herceg Novi is famous for being the sunniest place in Montenegro – with over 200 days of sunshine per year!

Great value holiday in a lovely villa

Just come back from a truly relaxing holiday in Montenegro. It was the first time we have ever been and we will definitely go back. We chose Rosemary Cottage because we wanted a self catering holiday with the stunning views but the option to indulge a little more. The wellness centre was perfect for that and the prices were great value too. The cottage itself was really lovely - nicely furnished and modern, but had the character so we didn't feel like we were staying somewhere new.
However, i think the best bit about our holiday was the local rep from Explore Montenegro who couldn't have been more helpful and gave us tips for the best local restaurants and things to do.

Brilliant accommodation, the website does not do the cottage justice. The views are astonishing and all home comforts are provided.
