Photos and Description of the Lucca vacation villa rental 6 beds, 4 baths, sleeps 14 - 10 in Main House and 4 in Barn

Set at the top of a hill, at the edge of a Chestnut wood, in two acres of its own land. On the edge of a small village, Casa Nuova has great views, privacy and a huge pool. Both the villa and the barn have been beautifully converted and have all mod-cons. The main house sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms, (2 bedrooms have matrimonial beds and 2 have singles) with two bathrooms and a shower-room. The barn sleeps 4 in a further 2 bedrooms (1 with matrimonial bed and 1 with bunk beds) and one large shower-room. There is internet access, satellite TV, DVD, Video and Stereo, washer/dryers, dishwashers, microwave, etc... Outside is a covered terrace with tables and seating for 16, a huge pergola by the pool, and other terraces. There are also vines and fruit trees, and a brick built bread oven - great for pizzas and barbeques.

Details for Casa Nuova - House & Barn 6 Bedrooms, Sleeps 15, 4 Bathrooms

Casa Nuova was built for the local priest at around the turn of the 20th Century - hence the name, as Casa Nuova is the newest house in the village! Built on three levels, the house was sympathetically restored in 1990 (re-decorated since then!) and the adjoining barn was converted in 1995. All the ceilings have exposed wooden beams and all the floors have the original terracotta tiles. On the Ground floor is the kitchen/dining room, and living room, which has french doors leading onto a covered terrace and brick built bread oven. In front of the house is a lawn for games. The swimming pool is a huge 6 metres by 13 metres and is set above the house and up a flight of steps. On the first floor of the main house there are 2 bedrooms (1 matrimonial and 1 twin) and two bathrooms (1 en suite to both bedrooms). On the second floor are 2 further bedrooms (1 matrimonial and 1 with 3/4 single beds). The barn has a further 2 bedrooms, 1 shower room, a kitchen and a living/dining room.

Casa Nuova is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Gugliano, at the top of a hill, a beautiful 15 miles north and west of Lucca. It is 25 minutes from Lucca, 50 from Pisa airport, 75 from Florence and 40 from the Versilia coast. A 15 minute walk will take you to the nearest bar/pizzeria/shop in nearby Mastiano village. The scenery is spectacular throughout.

Notes: The swimming pool has steps across the entire width of the pool, making it ideal for small children, or for adults who just feel like being half in and half out! There is a small library on the first floor landing for guests to make use of and some toys and books for smaller children. We appreciate any additions made by guests! 'I wanted to let you know we had an absolutely fabulous holiday and Casa Nuova was so lovely none of us wanted to leave.
It was so comfortable and well equiped, it felt a home from home. The kids had a ball at the pool with two of them learning to swim in the 2 weeks.
Grazia was really great too and, as you said, the food was delicious and fantastic value. She also managed to make things the kids all liked too which is quite a feat and they all loved her.'

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa and I think we'd all like to come back some time, so we may be back in touch in the future..

This is a fantastic place to stay. Our party was 13 poeple ( 3 families sharing. inc 7 kids age 11-15 ). There was plenty of room. The pool was endless fun and the views all around were breath taking. The location was great for exploring Tuscany and it is also great for privacy!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
