A very nice, newly renovated, 2-room apartment with a small terrace

Spend your days at the beach and start your nights with a drink at the wonderful open bar (5 min from the house) above the beach, where you can watch the sun set over the Atlantic ocean.

Central Biarritz is a 10 minutes walk away.

The apartment opens up into an open kitchen and dinner table. On the same floor you find a nice bathroom with shower and laundry machine, as well as a bedroom with a double bed. Downstairs you find a sofa-bed and a flat-screen TV. There is an extra bed as well, so the apartment sleeps up to five people.

The apartment has been completely renovated and have all the modern equipment, including internet.

During July and Aug change-over day is normally Saturday, but arrangements on other dates can usually be made, so send us an e-mail in that case.

We are actually three friends that fell in love with Biarritz and just knew we wanted to keep coming back to this place for the fantastic atmosphere and for the surf.

The way to surfing went through a heavy interest in skiing. Erik is the better man in that area spending over ten seasons in the Swedish ski resort Åre before settling in Stockholm as a sales man towards restaurants.

Tobias and Tomas spent a few seasons in the Swiss alps during university. Now we both got stuck in the swedish consulting industry (Tobias in finance operations and Tomas in strategy and sustainability should you have any questions).

The time of for skiing is hence less frequent. However as Sweden goes into a mental pause on summer, surfing became a perfect substitute for skiing and the interest have since grown. (there is no sking in the summer unfortunately - not even in Sweden :-).

So now we are trying to make the most of our time in this lovely city, sipping coffee, enjoying the great restaurants and spending time at the beach.

Erik Westman purchased this apartment in 2010

The location of the property is superb - it is close to the beach so it is easy to get an extra morning or evening surf in. It is still a short walk to the city centre and even a shorter one to the restaurants in Les Halles.

Being an old stone house from the turn of the last century we knew the property had huge charm and potential when be bought it, but it needed a serious renovation to become the dream house we wanted.

After one year of renovation including all bathrooms and kitchens in the five apartment building (see surfhouse.se) we really believe we and our excellent renovation team did very well.

We hope to continue develop the property and all ideas and tips are welcome.

The apartment is decorated according to Scandinavian style and function - light and fresh but still very practical. In connection to the apartment there is a surf room for surf boards and the inner yard is perfect for summer night dinners outside.

The location is also supreme with its closeness to cote de basque and to city centre. We love spending the afternoons at the beach, walk up to les 100 Marches Bar for sangria and boule watching the sun set before heading out for dinner.

GREAT APARTMENT IN GREAT LOCATION

The apartment was perfect for my few days in Biarritz, and will be my number one choice of place to stay if I am lucky enough to go back. The location is just a short walk from the ocean and the centre of town. I had a car for when I went further than that, but there is also a bus route that passes nearby.

The apartment itself had everything you could need for short or medium term rental, and was well furnished and designed. It was a real pleasure to come back to each day, and would have still be comfortable when full of people.

The owners were very quick to answer questions, and extremely helpful with my last-minute booking.

I would highly recommend the Surfhouse, especially if you are lucky enough to stay longer than I did!
