Longcroft House is a Grade II listed, early Victorian villa in The Lincombes, set in one of the oldest & elegant residential suburbs of Torquay. With uninterrupted sea views, set in over an acre of spacious landscaped gardens, it epitomises the lavish architecture and lifestyle of the Victorian era. Inside, the villa is spacious and has a warm family feel to it.

Situated in stunning landscaped grounds of just over one acre with breath taking sea views and a magical ambience of fine Victorian era escapism and splendour; the stately Longcroft House provides the perfect holiday retreat for groups and families of up to 12!

The villa’s location in the highly desirable residential Torquay enclave of ‘The Lincombes’, ensures guests are perfectly placed to reach the award-winning Meadfoot Beach as well as the fantastic range of attractions, activities and amenities of the Torquay area easily by car & on foot.

Guests arriving by car can easily find ample parking down the sweeping gravel driveway to the front and the porch entrance welcomes guests into a gorgeous open plan hallway with polished wood flooring and an elegant wide staircase leading to the upper accommodation.

The principal rooms lead directly off from the hallway and are open, bright and spacious with high ceilings, fine marble fireplaces and fully restored character features.

Direct sea views from the beautiful ‘floor to ceiling’ bay windows can be enjoyed in elegant comfort from the generously proportioned drawing room. This bright and welcoming reception room also serves as the ideal venue in which to enjoy morning coffees and afternoon teas and also provides the perfect place in which to unwind and read a good book during lazy unhurried afternoons!

A lovely smaller informal sitting room provides an additional place in which to pass the time with a cup of cocoa watching television in front of a warm radiant fire which can be made in the working open hearth.

A bright and spacious formal dining area with marble fireplace and elegant dining table provides refined surroundings in which to entertain and for more relaxed dining and informal morning breakfasts, the kitchen is the perfect choice.

Here a full-size family kitchen, complete with a country-style range and all the desired appliances and cooking utensils provides a picturesque place in which to prepare and cook delicious home-cooked meals. Garden views can also be enjoyed from the country style breakfast table which can comfortably sit up to 12. Views of the bay can also be enjoyed in the conservatory off the kitchen.

During the warm summer months ‘alfresco’ lunches and dinners to the sea view terrace provides the most idyllic dinner party venue for you and your guests!

A games room with a pool table, fuss ball table and table tennis for younger guests is situated to the villa’s dry cellar and the beautiful landscaped grounds with gentle gravel paths and manicured sea view vistas, provide the perfect outdoor escape for guests of all ages.

The grand wide staircase from the welcoming hallway leads to the upper floor which provides the villa’s sleeping accommodation. With luxury sleeping arrangements for up to 12 guests, the beautifully presented rooms featuring original marble fireplaces, romantic antique touches and also luxury en-suite bathrooms and flat-screen TVs to the principal rooms.

The spacious sleeping accommodation comprises two king-size bedrooms, one double bedroom, a twin bedroom with and a fifth bedroom furnished with four single beds ideal for children.

The sleeping accommodation is perfectly complemented by 2 bathrooms with showers over the bath and 1 shower rooms, ensuring adequate facilities are available for all your guests.

From this splendid Victorian retreat, the famous blue flag Meadfoot Beach, famously known as the favourite childhood haunt of the writer Agatha Christie; is located directly below the villa. Here guests can enjoy sunbathing, swimming and also a relaxed meal or snack at the Osborne Hotel.

Beautiful House, lovely large rooms and perfect for large groups. It is a very sociable house with gorgeous views and we enjoyed our stay very much. The bed linen and towels provided were of a lovely quality. Great base for exploring the surrounding area. It is within walking distance into town, although could be a problem for some as it is quite an hilly area. There are a couple of small items that needed a bit of TLC but this did not affect the enjoyment of our holiday.
