Opportunity:


HomeAway has a great opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated accounting professional at its corporate headquarters. Reporting to the U.S. Controller, the Financial Reporting Manager will work closely with the finance and accounting teams to support information and analysis to the business teams as well as external constituents (board and investors.) The candidate should demonstrate initiative and a positive team-oriented outlook, enjoy working across functional boundaries, and display a high energy level in a fast-paced growing company.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of the world-wide monthly consolidation of accounts, and resulting financial statements.
  • Validation of Intercompany balances as part of the consolidation, collaborating with Accounting and Tax on such.
  • Supporting the preparation of non-U.S. entities financial statements in accordance with US GAAP on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Prepare and distribute internal management reports and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Continuous development and improvement of the financial reporting process, including internal financial reporting packages, expanding external financial reporting packages and disclosure certification
  • Special projects as assigned from time to time such as due diligence on proposed acquisitions or new business ventures. Migrating new initiatives from the developmental phase to the operational accounting team(s).
  • Begin early planning for SOX 404 controls certifications. Assist, as necessary, in documenting, designing and testing processes and procedures affecting the financial statements or financial performance of the company.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and licensed CPA
  • 3+ years progressive experience in public accounting. Big 4 experience a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and ability to research technical accounting issues and provide appropriate recommendations
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to interact cross functionally, with all levels of management and across geographies
  • Exceptional attention to detail and prior hands-on experience with the preparation of financial and management reports
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Attention and ability to undertake process improvements
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to understand the total scope of business, while executing on tasks
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly in a fast-paced team environment
  • Proficient in MS Office software and experience in Oracle Financials, Clarity, and eProsper systems a plus.


Location:
Austin, Texas. Travel up to 15% based on need to support our European businesses.
