Q: How do I resize my photos? A: In your photo editing software (such as Microsoft Office Picture Manager, Adobe Photoshop, etc.) look for an "Image Size", "Resize", "Print Size" or "Resample" menu option. When you select this menu option, you will see a dialog box where you can change the pixel dimensions. To change the print size without stretching or distorting the photo, look for a "constrain proportions" or "keep aspect ratio" option and make sure it is enabled.
Q:
Why do some photos on the Web look excellent while others just look okay? A: Poor photos are a result of diminished light, bad exposure levels, houses obscured by trees or shots taken at bad angles. Please do not scan Polaroids or photocopies of photos into your computer because these photo types will appear grainy on the web.
If you resized or altered a small photo to fit our minimum photo requirements (400 x 300 pixels), the photo may also look blurry or fuzzy. If you’re taking photos with a digital camera or have had your regular photos scanned into a computer, 640 x 480 pixels are the best. Get tips for enhancing your vacation property photos here.
Q: Why does it say “PENDING” on my photos? A: Once you have a photo to your listing, make sure you have also transferred it from your photo library to your listing. To confirm the placement of your photos, click the “choose this photo” link. Once you have done so, HomeAway Support will approve your photo(s) within 2 to 3 business days and remove the “PENDING” message. See the Uploading Photos tutorial for more details.
Q: How do I change my property thumbnail photo? A: You must have at least one approved photo on your listing in order to have a thumbnail photo.
