Good location 15 minutes from downtown

4 of 5
We spent 11 nights here. Carlos the manager meet us at the house to show us the house and he is very attentive and replays to requests quickly. The house lovely large rooms and has large kitchen with assorted spices to use Everything you need to cook is there. it has a big deep pool that cleaned every week. Cleaner comes every Thursday to clean. They supplied a huge bottle of water.20 liter water is 4 pesos down the street and the guy will bring it to you but the cooler does not get cold. There is no cable tv but it's has a dozen movies to use. It is noisy in the front living room because you are on Calle 47, but can go to dining room for a quieter place. No internet there only in front living room. Karen the owner is very good at getting back to you with information about the area and etc. I would highly recommend adventures mexico agency for cooking classes, I went to the huge market with the tour guide to learn and taste the food, there was only 3 of us which was great then we went to local host house to learn to cook there. Only 59 USD. Also went to LA 68 restaurant for home and garden tour on Wednesday .which was excellent. Also the food was good there as well, on 68 calle and 53 Kat un restaurant on 49 calle and 66 calle has very good seafood but slow to get it. On Sunday would highly recommend to go bicycling on the paseo de montejo, road is closed til 1230pm. The house is close to St Ana which has good juice and food. On Saturday night a lovely show there. I would recommend the house because it is close to everything and very good price.

Staying at Maison Azul

5 of 5
This is a beautiful home in the center of Merida. Tall ceilings and beautiful tiled floors are complimented with vintage armoires and seating. You can lounge in comfy couches in the library which is full of books including ones on Mexican design and cooking. Each room in the main house centers around the entry way and leads out to a lush interior courtyard. There is a covered porch where my family and I spent most of our time. Throughout the exterior, lights and fountains bring the space alive in the evenings. The well appointed kitchen has everything you need for making great meals. Bottled water and coffee maker are welcome amenities and the juicer led to some fine margaritas. Victoria comes into clean several days a week. Not sure we needed her there quite so often but she was very friendly. We ate at Apoala just down the street which was excellent. The owner supplied us with several emails giving us tips on places to eat, what fiestas were happening when...Really helpful for first time visitors like us. I would highly recommend Maison Azul to fellow visitors.

Great Villa in Great Location

5 of 5
The villa was just like pictured on VRBO no surprises. The Wi-Fi was excellent. There is no central air but we didn't need it. The house was designed with air flow in mind and it was great. The Gonzalo and Olivia the caretakers were always on hand to help with whatever was needed. The owner Ana Patricia was amazing!! She went above and beyond for us, a little mishap with arrival times. She picked us up and took us shopping before going to the villa what a plus. she speaks excellent English and was so informative. The bottle of wine was such a nice added touch when we arrived. About Chicxulub. It is a small fishing village and when you read on trip advisor and else where that little English is spoken in the area they are not kidding. But we knew just enough to get by. The locals were so nice and always tried their best to help us. There was not a lot going on in the evenings. No bars or restaurant were open in the evenings and very few during the day. But it was a short ride to Progresso for those evening outings. If you are just wanting a very quiet, relaxing vacation this place is for you. We had a great time and would recommend to friends. Thanks Ana Patricia for sharing your home with us.
