A week in paradise!!!

5 of 5
Casa de los Pelicanos was pure indulgence – I am spoiled for life. How I needed the rest!!! Luxurious accommodations surrounded by a lush, tropical setting. The oceanfront deck overlooks and is just a few steps from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. There were fabulous meals prepared by a darling Mayan couple who were always happy to serve. We actually wanted to adopt them; precious and sweet!! I leave this place with a heavy heart but I know that my return is not too far off in the distant future. We may be back at home now, however, our hearts and thoughts remain in Tulum. Wow.…what a place!!

Perfect end to our Yucatan trip!

5 of 5
Having travelled through the Yucatan for 10 days we were looking forward to some rest and relaxation for the last week of our holiday. Villa Arghy turned out to be just the ticket. The first impression is incredible. As you walk through the front door you are immediately confronted with the large expanse of glass at the rear if the property which gives the most gorgeous view of there beach and sea behind. This is repeated upstairs as well where they have designed a similarly large expanse of glass overlooking the sea. Thereafter we learnt about the quality of the rest of the property. Lots of space, nice furnishings, a well equipped Kitchen, wifi and TV and DVD players if you can tear your eyes away form the view (we couldn't!). Outside is a decent pool and again a lot of space for relaxing. The beach itself of course brings the beauty of night-time visitors in the shape of the beautiful turtles (and we even had an unexpected mass hatching of baby turtles right behind the villa one afternoon! The open roof-space gives further options for relaxation and start gazing. In fact, given the various patios and balconies and rooftop space you have loads of options if you want a change of scene or catch the sun at a different time of day. Lesly and Alfredo and the perfect hosts, being totally discreet but always there in the most cheerful fashion if needed for anything. And Lesly's salsa and guacamole was the best we had during our whole trip. The location is excellent, whether for exploring the immediate area around Tulum or travelling further afield or inland to visit the numerous attractions in the region. It is very hard to improve this place so can only find small things that could make a difference. Maybe a nice wifi dock in the main living area to compile, meant those in the bedrooms, possibly more shaw on the patio and some instructions for the telescope would be handy! However, the relative triviality of these show what a fantastic place this is, a well designed and well-run place to give a very special trip indeed.

Great place to stay with a large group!

5 of 5
I'm a teacher and went to Tulum on a field trip with 8 high school kids and 2 other adults. We stayed at Villa Tankah and it was a great place to stay. It more than accommodated our group. We had a great time. Only a 10 minute drive to Tulum Puebla and Beach. The place had all the amenities we needed. Although, there wasn't an oven, there was a stove with 4 burners and there were 2 refrigerators so we were able to make all of our meals there which helped out our budget a lot. The pool was also great. It was clean and it kept the kids occupied. Didier, the caretaker, was very helpful and very nice. When we wanted to bbq, he set up the grill. When we asked him which was the best local market to buy groceries, he drove us there. Such a nice guy. The cleaning lady was also really awesome. Everyday, she would come in and make sure we had clean towels and wash the dishes. The place was spotless everyday. I think the best part of this place is the location. Its pretty secluded and safe. The kids were able to walk around the beach and bike in relative safety. There are 2 restaurants that were walking distance which were very good. Also, at night we walked along the pretty secluded beach and saw huge turtles coming up to the shore and laying eggs. It was pretty amazing. I would stay here again if I had a large group. You can't get a better deal considering the location, the pool, and the price. Highly recommended.
