FAMILY VACATION

5 of 5
My family and I recently stayed at Villa de Paz. It was my wife, with my 18yr old daughter and her friend, my 15yr old son and his friend, and my 10 year old son. Upon arrival the house and grounds from the outside are beautiful, the location is right on the beach, that includes a nice pool on the beach, it is about 15 feet to the sea, although I do not recommend swimming right off the beach in front of the house it is a bit rocky, beach shoes necessary. Inside, the house is a bit older and in need of some upgrades but overall I give it a 7 out of 10, it is spacious and comfortable and we had plenty of room. We ate all of our meals outside on the patio by the pool. Carlos the caretaker is great and cleans the house and beach everyday, he understands very little English but we had no trouble communicating, he also gets you cabs when needed. He arranged for us to have a chef prepare us breakfast and dinner 5 out of the 8 days we where there, Honorio and Maddie prepared exquisite meals, did all the shopping, we gave them the money prior, we had lobster, fajitas, fresh, salsa, and guacamole everyday, desserts, flan, pastry, it was top notch. I tipped them at the end of the week, they also served and cleaned up after every meal. It is very safe, we did lock up every night but we never felt unsafe. It was sunny and 85 everyday, with a nice ocean breeze, each bedroom has air-conditioning, but one did break in the small bedroom so we just had my son move in with his brother, no big deal. Casa Cenote is a great restaurant 2 properties down, as well as Blue Sky, Casa Cenote has a dive shop, we used them to Scuba Dive the freshwater Cenote right behind the house, great for snorkeling as well, you can also swim and snorkel in the ocean right in front of Casa Cenote. Lots to do locally, if you want to travel some. Susie the owner is very responsive and answered any and all of my questions. The only thing that caught us off guard was the inability to flush TP because of the fragile septic system, although it was not as big of deal as we first thought it would be. Overall it was paradise, I highly recommend staying at Villa de Paz!! Thanks you Susie!!

FIRST TRIP TO MEXICO

5 of 5
we (2 couples) rented this house for a week....the view and location are excellent....2 restaurants with-in easy walking distance....there is a guard shack at the entrance to the road that the house is on and someone was there at all times when we went to and from the house - so safety wasn't a concern....very easy to find and get to from the airport...easy and close to tullum ruins and xel-ha (i would highly recommend)...very private with only a few neighbors walking the beach...the beach itself is soft sand and you can walk into the ocean from infront if you have aqua socks or "tough" feet...i walked in without aqua socks...we snorkled and saw some rays and alot of fish in the ocean...the caretakers are first rate and very helpfully (they live in a seperate house on the property), we had them prepare 3 meals for us and each one was different (you have to have them make a seafood ceviche....best i ever had with fresh octopus and shrimp - no fish since i don't like fish)...we had fresh guacamole and pico-de-gio every day made by the caretaker and fresh orange juice is the way to go for tequila sunrises (we went through a few pitchers)...there are some signs of old age creeping in but none of it was a bother (and certainly fixable)...we used the pool, the beach and the lounge chairs everyday...you want a car because there is so much to do so close...i would go back in a heart beat - thanks.

A PIECE OF HEAVEN WITH ANGELS

5 of 5
We just got home from 10 days at Casa Escocesa. We walked in and it was soooo much prettier than the pictures show. The warm breezes, the ocean waves, the space and probably what added to our joy and enjoyment were Elder and Elda, and their daughters Amzi and Abi. We got in after dark and part of our group was already there. We were given guacamole and salsa made by Elda and left over kabobs. It was delicious. What we learned in the days to come is how accommodating Elder and Elda were and they only goal was to make our 10 day stay incredible. We never wanted for anything. The food was just there every day, delicious and the table set so pretty and if we needed something, Elder made it appear. It was without a doubt the best pampering, and much needed. Totally recommend having Elda cook for you, both she and Elder our delightful to have around. We also saw a lot. Beach in Tulum, Town of Tulum, Ruins in Coba (had a wonderful tour there, and you can actually still climb on the ruins, Elder's suggestion), lunch at the ruins (not as good as Elda's cooking, but very good), Playa del Carman/shopping and beaches, Cozemel, Xel Ha (swim with the dolphins, snorkel and chocolate massage...) but by far the hidden secret was Akumal Lagoon (didn't have time for beach which is known for turtles, particularly May to October) and like a dream. Amazing fish with out waves, it's between carved out Limestone and there are beautiful paths with many bronze statues...like a dream.. Sunsets were beautiful. Even had a wonderful massage right on the patio of the house our last night that Elder arranged. Heavenly! Thank you for providing such a wonderful, peaceful place to stay and with Elder and Elda, our angels.
