Amazing Villa

5 of 5
I went on a girls only trip and we abosolutely loved Villa Albatros. The style of the Villa is beautiful and very clean. The staff and especially the Chef are outstanding. We were able to relax and eat every meal on the covered patio. I would definately go back again.

Villa Tortuga, more than we ever imagined!

5 of 5
From the moment we arrived we were in awe at how the pictures on the website did not do the villa justice! The location was perfect, the layout was spacious and comfortable. It was clean and very well maintained and having the cleaning staff come in each day – and actually cleaned, not just tidy up – was a fabulous touch. We were not messy guests, just tracked in a lot of sand no matter how hard we tried not to! We did not get a chance to meet the owner but Mauricio, the Villa Manager, is a sweetheart. The security guard in the Palapa was very helpful and understood English enough to have our transportation needs met as we did not rent a vehicle. A roundtrip taxi to Puerto Morales or Playa del Carmen ran about $50 USD on the average - more or less depending on the number of passengers. We had dinner reservations at Alux (Aloosh) in Playa one evening. It was wonderful and would definitely return again. A ‘must see’ establishment if you have never been there. We also purchased the four-day meal plan in the Palapa. The food and service were superb! Rafael the chef and Russell the waiter took very good care of us! The only concern throughout the whole experience of planning, booking and arriving for this trip was early on, trying to contact guest_services@playasecreto.com to get some questions answered. Once Mauricio got involved, it was never an issue! As for Hacienda del Secreto overall – we are already planning to book again next year, if they will have us!

Absolutely Perfect, Look No Further!

5 of 5
This house is incredible, spacious, beautiful and comfortable. We kept saying that it would ruin us for any other vacation spots. It is MUCH more affordable than all-inclusive resorts and gives the privacy a hotel cannot offer. We also prefer renting homes here, so we can spend time on adventures in the area. We definitely want to return and are still dreaming of it. All floors are beautiful, polished stone (limestone?), with stone showers and granite countertops and it is impeccably clean. It's true that the photos don't do it justice. And as other reviews have said, the caretakers, Elda and Elder are kind and charming and so very helpful--and their cooking is excellent. They made our dinner 6 of the 8 nights and each was a delight and we really enjoyed chatting with them before and after the meals. They do maid service on the house every day but Sunday. The pool area is gorgeous, surrounded by palm trees and a constant and warm Caribbean breeze. My young children spent many hours in the pool and it was a welcome respite after long days adventuring to nearby ruins, cenotes and eco-parks. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view of the Caribbean and adjacent Solimon Bay. I recommend watching the sunrise from the roof--each was stunning. The Bay is great for swimming and the snorkeling is quite good--we saw sea turtles, lots of coral and fish. We highly recommend, the very close Cenote Manati (and many others in the area), the Mayan ruins in both Tulum and Coba, and our favorite eco-park, Xplor, will knock your socks off. They even let our 4 yr-old zipline and he loved it! Chichen Itza is about 2 hours away and is worth the trip if you are up for the drive. We also ate thin crust, wood-fire pizzas at the Blue Sky Restaurant, just down the road--it is excellent and the outdoor setting is lovely. I really don't have any complaints and will count the days until I can return.
