Beautiful Villa in great location

5 of 5
We are still reminiscing about our recent vacation at Villa Encantamar. From the moment we walked through the courtyard door and set our eyes on the charming pool and front of the house we felt at home and on vacation all at the same time. The house is as others have remarked, essentially perfect—it has everything you need including TV, phone, and internet. However, we didn’t spend much time using these electronic amenities. We instead spent many hours lounging around the pool and just relaxing in the back admiring the beautiful Caribbean water. Even while inside the Villa, we never tired of looking out the back windows at the vast and calm Caribbean Sea. Having Puerto Morelos nearby (10 minutes by car) made for even more enjoyment and we much preferred this sleepy little town for dining, shopping, and strolling than we did the larger cities of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, although they have much to offer too. The north-south highway a few miles west of the house provides quick access to Cancun and Playa D C, as well as goes south of Playa D C to Tulum and beyond and there are numerous places to enjoy the ocean, snorkel, visit cenotes, etc. We spent some of our time exploring and enjoying these areas, but found ourselves commonly just wanting to relax and enjoy the serenity and amenities at Villa Encantamar. We are already scheming about a return trip to Villa E.

Gorgeous home with many places to hang out

5 of 5
Four of us spent 6 days at this lovely home in late October 2014 and had the best time. First of all, the house is GORGEOUS … much nicer than most of the homes we saw on the island. Every room is comfortable and beautifully decorated. The pool was just the right size for dipping and hanging out, and because it is on the side of the house away from the beach, it’s protected from the wind. We spent tons of time in the water. The kitchen, while small, was well appointed with fantastic appliances (gigantic fridge, wide gas range with griddle, dishwasher). The bedroom downstairs is very large, with an extra large bathroom and tub. But since there were only four of us, both couples opted for the second-floor bedrooms instead, and we used the lower bedroom as an extension of the living space on the main floor. Opening the windows in the bedroom allowed a nice breeze to flow through the home. The bedrooms on the second floor are very similar in size and amenities. One of the two bedrooms on that floor has a loft space for a little reading or napping. (The other has a smaller loft bed.) In fact, that was something unexpected that we loved about this house. It’s not overly large, yet there were so many wonderful places to hang out: the pool, the deck off the bedroom on the main floor, the loft in the bedroom upstairs, the wonderful rooftop deck, or the hammock room on the roof. The location of the home is also nice – just a few minutes via golf cart into town (but away from its crowds), and minutes from a large well-appointed grocery store (Chedraui). The house sits along a road (which was busier than usual for us because it was being used as a detour for the main road, which was closed), but once inside the gate, we didn’t hear much nice, especially with the pool fountain running. The beach was lovely to walk along (tons of shells and coral), but a little rocky and wavy, but we did find ourselves swimming in it a couple of times. One day, we headed to Playa del Norte in town and enjoyed the white sand and shallow, calm waters. Finally, the staff at the house was wonderful… Armin was super friendly and eager to help or offer advice whenever he could, and his wife was extremely thorough in keeping the house clean and stocked. We all agreed we’d definitely spend more time in this home, and we likely will!
