impressed at every opportunity

5 of 5
What an amazing place to stay. Three couples and one couple-less friend rented this house for 8 days of scuba diving. Our host met us at the airport, helped us haul our gear to the house, gave us a thorough tour - the property is amazing. The house is spotless, kitchen well appointed, oodles of space. The three couples each took an ensuite room on the main floor, our friend took the huge guest room upstairs. This is the perfect house to base dive trips from. The private peer for the complex was an easy two minute walk from the house (our dive operator picked us up here every morning), the proximity of the house to some of the best dive sites in the area is awesome - a couple of our dives were only a few hundred yards from the peer - we often did our surface intervals back at the house (a rare treat). I'd recommend a rental car - it's a few miles from town; although there is a smattering of beach front restaurants and bars quite close. Our host gave us a map and list of some top-notch local restaurants. Highly recommend this one; we're planning to return.

Excellent Experience at Casa Mas

5 of 5
I'm always amazed when something exceeds my expectations. We had an excellent experience with Casa Mas and Challenge Diving. From the first email everything was amazing - prompt responses, incredibly accommodating people and an amazing place to stay. The house is in a wonderful neighborhood - with more than we needed to be happy - and many nice touches to help us hit the ground running. We spent hours by the pool after diving or over our morning coffees on non-diving days, and appreciated the daily housekeeping, pool service and access to Antonio, the Property Manager. This was the best house rental we've ever had. Thank you Karla & Milton (@ Challenge Diving Villas), Antonio, Lorena, Candelario, and Eric & all the crew at Challenge Diving. We'll be back!!

Heaven on Earth. I spend all the time I can here

5 of 5
I stumbled upon these villas 3 years ago and have been going back as often as I can ever since. It is my favorite place to be on the planet. The villas are gorgeous, comfortable, spacious and clean. I have stayed in Fish and Boat villas. The kitchen is huge and well stocked, but there is no need to cook - you can order reasonably priced, delicious and huge meals served in your own dining room or patio. And there are always leftovers for the next day. Liza and Miguel are wonderful hosts and regularly go out of their way to make sure we have all we need. Liza even baked for us for my friend's birthday and showed up with her staff to sing birthday songs. They will shop for you and, if you need something at an odd hour, they can sometimes provide it from their own stocks. The wi-fi is good if you need to work, as I do. The beach is sublime and just feet from the patio and pool. The white sand feels like flour under your toes. The water is warm and often completely calm, but, sometimes, if you're lucky, you can do some great boogie-boarding. The pool is also lovely and clean. There are pool toys and floats and usually snorkel gear there as well. If you're a serious snorkeler, though, bring your own or rent it in Puerto Morelos. You'll need to hire a boat (usually $20 a person) to see the really nice stuff. The patio and pool area feel totally private, though I have always enjoyed getting to know the neighbors in other villas. Having stayed there many times now, I recommend making a shopping list for Miguel before you arrive, so you have some things waiting for you. I usually order a dinner and breakfast for the first night and morning. But, there is a big, new supermarket in Puerto Morelos, just a 10 minute's drive from the villa. Also, the villa is a short half-hour drive from the airport. In short, I cannot recommend this place more and will be going there whenever I can for years to come. The only drawback is I may not get to see any other part of the world because I have found my slice of heaven.
