Wonderful experience - marvelous house

5 of 5
Our week long vacation at La Palapa was a unique experience! The house was spacious, clean and well equipped (lots of clean towels, fully equip’d kitchen etc). All the doors and windows had screens so we could leave them open all the time to enjoy the breeze. Sleeping upstairs in the palapa was delightful- huge tall roof with so much light. The house is situated on the edge of town and very peaceful, but still easy enough to get into town ($6 cab fare). Large private outdoor space with nice garden and pool, pool guy came twice during our week long stay. We enjoyed sitting out eating (and drinking) at the large table under the shade-sail, then jumping into the pool to cool off. We are both painters and found much inspiration around us, either sitting poolside or indoors to paint, and with so much space we could leave our equipment out. The town of Puerto Morelos is about 10 minutes by taxi, or a 20 minute walk along the beach. Locals are all friendly and helpful- our very limited Spanish was not a problem. Lots of choices to eat out, one restaurant even arranged a special private party on their rooftop palapa for us and a large group of friends. Colleen, the owner was wonderful- the booking process was so easy and she provided us with lots of advice and tips on what to do there. Her love for La Palapa, the town and its people was obvious and infectious. She went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was enjoyable and relaxing. We will be back soon 

READ MY REVIEW AND BOOK THIS PROPERTY!

5 of 5
Let me start by saying that my husband and I normally stay in upscale inclusive resorts. We used to stay at Excellence which is up the beach from Puerto Morelos. Excellence used to offer complimentary shuttles to the Pomo town square. After our first trip to Pomo we fell in love with this place. Normally I start my research for travel destinations in the fall so last year I thought why not Puerto Morelos. Needless to say after looking at dozens and dozens of properties I saw this condo and made up my mind instantly. After speaking with the owner (Betty) I was instantly at ease and had a high level of confidence. Remember I am used to an AI. From the second we arrived at this property my husband and I were in awe of the beauty. We were greeted by Arlene and Emilio. They helped us with our luggage up to the condo. When we entered we just looked at each other and said the same thing. WOW!!! The décor is exquisite. There is alot space which can accommodate up to 6+ people easily. What is not mentioned is that there is a kitchenette between the guest bedrooms which is a major convenience for additional guests. The showers are large and are walk in. When you enter the condo the living room is massive with very comfortable couches. The master bedroom is unbelievable. The king size bed is wonderful. It has its own balcony where we sat for hours each day just watching the horizon and doing nothing!! We loved that. There is also a 2nd balcony off one of the guest rooms which is just as nice. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances, dishware, and a full size fridge. Very easy to cook gourmet meals in. The dining room table is one of a kind. There is a picture window with a view of the jungle. Actually, there are windows throughout the condo so the views are everywhere! With the number of properties that I looked at before I saw this one I have to say that none of them had a pool as big or, as nice as this one. Very quiet, very relaxing and with the beach right there you just go from the pool to the beach. I absolutely cannot find the words to say how much we enjoyed ourselves on this vacation. In fact the day after we came home I reserved this condo for the same time next year. I have never done this before. The other thing that I have to say is that the people that make this property and, your stay here really go above and beyond to please you. Emilio, Arlene, Fernando, and Leo you are just wonderful. See you next year.

Great experience for first time in mexico

5 of 5
Kim and Jim are excellent hosts and very informative during our first visit to mexico. Breakfast was delicious and healthy offering local made breads, yogurts, juices, jungle honey and more.... The pool offered cool shady refreshment during the heat and sun of midday and the rooms spacious and clean. We spent every morning and evening on the roof under the palapa swinging in the hammocks... They had great suggestions for local eats and things to do and see in town. Highly recommend them as a first time stay, especially with kids as the accomodations are close to town center and an easy walk to the beach... My daughter enjoyed chatting with Kim every morning and Kim and Jim were very warm and welcoming to us all! Thanks to you both for opening your home to us!
