10 Days of Paradise

5 of 5
Wow there is so much to say and to explain. 1. The house is magnificent and the grounds surrounding the house gave us our own very private paradise. Super large interior, spacious kitchen area with plenty of room for our group of 12 adults and 4 kids. 2. Very short private walk to the beach. When you arrive at the ocean you can turn to the right and join the folks staying at the Iberostar resort or you can turn left and walk along the wall to your own private area. We virtually had our own beach if we wanted it by going to the left. We rented Jet Skis from the rental place right at the end of the short path and it was great. 3. We hired the private cook to prepare almost every evening meal. That was especially nice the day of arrival and anytime we went on an all day excursion. The food was great and Hema is a very good cook. We would suggest doing maybe half the dinners in house and then going out to eat in Playa the other half. It is just so fun and cool in downtown Playa. 4. We rented a 15 passenger Van from Concorde Rental Company and it was a great experience. The Villa owner can help you get to the rental car company in Playa. We had a shuttle company take us from the Cancun Airport to the villa and got our rental car the following day in Playa. Worked out much better for us that way. They even delivered it directly to the house and picked it up there a week later. We never had any issues with the local or state police. Driving was easy and the roads are great. 5. Amazing places to visit every day if you want to keep busy. We enjoyed Xel-Ha so much we went twice. We also spent a day in Akumal swimming with the turtlles, one day in Coba and one in Tulum. Maroma Beach is really close, just a few miles toward Playa and costs a little to enter but the food service there is fantastic and reasonably priced. 6. Martin, the owner, is great to work with and helped us out on numerous occasions. If anything went wrong he really did get it fixed asap. We really liked him and enjoyed having him come over and talk.

You will love this villa

5 of 5
We loved our stay at Pedregal, the villa is accurately described, beautiful inside and out, very clean, with a warm feel to it. The beach is not more than a 5 minute walk out the back door, across a cobblestone street and down a garden path. It is about 20 minutes to the bustling center of town either by beach or by street. You can see the ferry pier that goes to Cozumel. The staff at Pedregal are friendly and helpful, very easy and attentive. There are beach towels, beach chairs, and bikes, also shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, and yes a television. The kitchen is well equipped. The interior design and decoration is amazing. I loved being in bed and looking at the sky ceiling. The master suite is beyond spacious. The backyard of the villa is a stone patio with seating and hammock right next to the shared pool. We visited Tulum, swam with turtles at Achumel, swam in cenotes, had great fun at Xplore, and toured Chitchen itza. I intend to stay at Pedregal again.

Family Villa close to a non-crowded, great beach

5 of 5
I am German and have been living in Mexico for the past 14 years. My family and friends from Germany asked me to organize a family getaway (and their standards were pretty high: close to the beach and town, close to grocery stores, things to do nearby, clean and safe housing). We were a total of 6 adults and 1 child. As soon as I spotted Casa Passalacqua, I knew that this would be the winner home! I sent around 1000 emails with questions to the Eleonore and at all times did she reply quickly and friendly clearing my doubts. Finally, we arrived to the home and I must say it is as the pictures show. I was blown away from the wonderful beach: white, soft sand with few people only and perfect to take a swim in the warm water (even during winter season!). We took the big umbrella from the house to the beach and were always in the shadow. My 2 year old son was able to run around in the 1st floor since there is lots of space for it. When you go upstairs there are some openings in the staircase where a 2-year-old could fit through. So, just be careful when going up and down the stairs with a small kid. Carlos was very helpful at all times - just 1 phone call away he was always there for questions and concerns. Also, helped us to get the DVD going when some cables were disconnected. The lady that comes and cleans the house is very nice and trustworthy. You can never actually tell if she is there because she is so quiet and private that you just notice when the sheets are new on your bed and everything is clean! No concern at all to leave all your belongings in the house while she is cleaning. We had a great time going on tours that were organized by some of the many operators along 5th avenue. We got some good deals and got picked up from the Playacar Palace (6 minutes walk from the house). We enjoyed going to Cozumel on a snorkeling tour (walk to the ferry about 15mins), Isla Mujeres and Tulum and Coba. It is worth getting to know the ruins of the Mayan Culture - but also very crowded. You should maybe go there with a rental car and then get a tour guide in front of the entrance of each ruin. We were lucky with only 1 rainy day, but we had fun doing some games, watching videos and playing with the kids. The house is so big, you don't actually feel all the people that are in the house. I can highly recommend this villa for your family vacation if you are planning a beach getaway in Playa del Carmen and I will look forward to an opportunity to go there again
