              Paradise!

              5 of 5
If you want a “get away from it all” experience with your own bit of paradise this is the place to go! We stayed here for 2 blissful weeks with our 2 teenage daughters who had just finished their exams and needed to “chill out”. If you like the beach you cannot beat the stunning location of this property. Step off the veranda onto the white sand and its a few steps to the Caribbean Sea. The views from every room in the house are breath taking. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than lying in your bed listening to the sea lapping onto the beach! The house surpassed all our expectations. The photos do not do it justice – it is very tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. It is cleverly designed to capture the slightest of breezes which kept it cool during the day. We spent hours beach combing the natural beauty of the shoreline and finding some amazing shells, and observing the many native birds (pelicans are my favourite). This area is completely unspoilt by commercialism (save the waste that sadly washes up from South America). The caretaker clears the beach directly in front of the property every morning. The 2 kayaks were great for going out to the reef where we spent many hours snorkelling – enjoying the marine life (octopus, lobsters a huge variety of tropical fish - we found Nemo!). The highlight of our 16 year old daughter’s holiday was watching a turtle swim passed her in the sea. The sea is completely safe (no tides), clear blue and very warm. The communication we had with Michael, the owner prior to our visit was outstanding. On finding out that we had 2 teenage daughters he even called us to find out if the property would meet all our needs in terms of it being so remote and the area undeveloped. The information Michael provides in his “Guest book” is very comprehensive and covered everything we needed to know. Do take his advice and get groceries on the way as this property is VERY isolated. The caretaker and his wife were available if required. Nothing was too much trouble but they kept a low profile throughout our stay. They kept the property immaculately clean. If you want to see a bit more of this part of Mexico there is plenty of places to visit (see Guest book). We cannot rate this property and its location highly enough. Our 18 year old daughter summed it up as our “own little piece of heaven”.

              What a glorious place!

              5 of 5
We have just returned to snow and cold after a week in the paradise of Taj Majahual and the Costa Maya. We decided to pull out all the stops for our 50th wedding anniversary and took our children and grandchildren on the trip of a lifetime. Gabe’s Taj Majahual was the perfect spot! We had plenty of room for all three families—and in luxury accommodations. The beach, the silken sand, the deliciously warm water, and the sunrises! What more could one dream of? Well, to top it off, the most beautiful setting. The house, with its gorgeous tiles and mosaics, is breathtaking. With porches all around, we had delightful breezes to cool us. The grandchildren frolicked on the Caribbean shore and in the sea—and so did we all (for me, it was the first time I’d set foot in the sea for over 50 years!), and afterwards, they swam in the darling 13’ wide plunge pool, which was just large enough for the three of them. In fact, the two smallest ones gained enough confidence there to stick their heads into the water and start swimming instead of dog-paddling. They delighted in resting in the hammocks provided. The kitchen is very well-equipped (and very prettily done, again in talavera tiles), and we fixed all but one of our meals there. It was fun buying our food from the “grocery truck” that comes on Thursday and Sunday (the kids were about to run screaming from the kitchen when they found that our 2 half-chickens came with heads and feet!—good learning experience). We were very sad to leave. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home, Gabe and Cindy.

              WONDERFUL BEACH ESCAPE

              5 of 5
My 12 person family stayed May/2009. What a perfect place for a beach get-away. First the villa is perfect for a big family gathering, lots of space with big bathrooms/ bedrooms and a well supplied kitchen. Plenty of places to be in or out of the sun and be near the water. The villa is spotlessly clean and a very thoughtful layout. The beds are perfectly comfortable with nice linens. Joe, the owner is very responsive to your needs and concerns. The beach is great with a modest reef 250 yards of shore. We snorkled their often both with the kayak and just taking a nice swim out. You can walk the beach north for miles. I don't think we saw 5 people any where on the beach the entire week. All the pictures on this web site are accurate and not over stated. My dealings with Joe and Maureen, the owners, Santiago and Esther, the caretakes, were easy and honest. I would stay again and have it on my list for a future vacation.
