Beautiful home, beautiful location

5 of 5
We loved staying here! Everything you would need for a great stay was provided: a beautiful beach, tranquility, comfy beds, coconuts, and most important, no alarm clock! The ocean breeze swept through the house keeping temps perfect and the view from the rooftop deck made it hard to leave. The house felt very safe and the few neighbors in the area were friendly and helpful. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Hidden Paradise!

Our first time to Mexico and we had an awesome time! House was very clean, great view, awesome fresh coconut, and very pleased with everything! I would most definitely recommend this house to everyone! The only tip I can give to travelers is to plan accordingly with groceries and ATM. Mahahaul didn't have working ATM machines and there was only produce and snacks at the stores, no meat or real groceries. Just preplan or you drive 2 plus hours to the nearest store. Very please with the owner, Sheryl, as she kept in contact with us during our stay. A huge thank you to Yai, the property manager for all of her contacts as well, her recommendations for groceries etc. Very wonderful people to work with! We enjoyed going to mahahaul, and driving the dirt road and stopping to walk by the beach and rocks. Loved seeing the different housing styles by driving the dirt road. There is a restaraunt in mahahauk named The Crazy Lobster, the service and food there is amazing! We recommend the hog fish. We have 3/children aged 15, 9, and 8 and they loved the beach and swimming and enjoyed some shore snorkeling finding shells etc. Thank you!

Had a great time!!

5 of 5
Stayed here a few years back and had a relaxing time. Really enjoyed the use of kayaks and the caretakers who lived a few minutes down the street. Also got a chance to check out Cenote Azul and Lago Bacalar which was pretty cool. A quick drive into town (and along the way) gives plenty of food and drink options as well as a pretty descent night life. So if you're sick of the resort scene like me then this is a great option! The only thing I might do differently is fly into Chetumal rather than Cancun.... it's a long drive although very duable.
