We Enjoyed the Six-Day in Mima's Village.
We stayed in the 2nd floor for a stunning view of the ocean. Since it's facing west, we enjoyed very much the sunset. We observed how fast the Sun was setting, in about 20 from the time we noticed it's setting.
We used the swimming pool often. It's clean and well maintained. In the ocean, we snorkeled almost everyday from 3 p.m. to about 5:30 when the Sun was not too hot. But any time past 5:30 the water started to feel a bit cold as this is only the beginning of April. The snorkeling place is literally a stone throw from the villa (about 50 feet), so convenient. We saw a lot of sea urchins, sole (a flat fish), lion fish, puff fish, and many other colorful fish. We packed our own snorkeling masks, it's a bit heavy, but well worth the trouble. We also brought fishing poles, but most areas were protected and not allowed fishing. We rented a car trying to fish in the northern shores, where fishing is allowed. But the last few miles, the road was not paved with too many potholes. So we had to abandon the dream of catching our own seafood dinners.
We like that the manager, Alvaro, who is very friendly and straight-forward. Like the previous reviewer, we did notice the ants. But they did not bother us too much. We kept the food scraps/juice away from the kitchen. We killed a few of them at first, and they didn't come back. We were offered ant spray, but I don't like chemicals, so didn't use it.
We also only use 1 of the 2 showers, as the other shower door is not working properly. It's not too bad for 4 of us. The water was hot enough for a good shower.
The place was clean, the kitchen utilities were pretty new. The rental price is right. I would recommend this place to my friends.
