I'd go back and stay again

4 of 5
We stayed for 2 weeks during Christmas and New Years 2013/14 for 2 adults+7year old. I will not say that it was absolutely 100% perfect, but I believe it was as good as it could be for the money during the holiday season. Owners sure try to do everything they can to accommodate. We had one issue when electricity got turned off in the house on Christmas Eve at like 8pm because of very strong wind/storm messing some wires... We called in the manager and he came out at 9pm on Christmas Eve (that alone says a lot!), than he got some guys from electric company and it was back on a few hours after... granted it was not in 5minutes, BUT I was mentally prepared ready to spend a few more days without electricity given it's a holiday, it's Mexico and lots of tequila around ;). So I was impressed! In our unit A/C worked great, beds were OK, pillows a bit stiff, shower and toilets worked as designed. WiFi Internet worked fine. You need to have rubber shoes to get into the water right in front of the house, but it's probably one of the best snorkeling that you can find on the island. Best if you walk up to Americana hotel, about 400m(yards) north, get in the water from their pier. The current will bring you back to the house in about 20minutes you can see all kinds of fishes while you do nothing. If you came to the island for snorkeling don't go anywhere else, and don't spend any money on tours BEFORE you snorkel right there. Chances are you will not find a better spot that's as easy to reach. To the owner: you can do a little better job cleaning the place before arrival. That includes everything including kitchen cabinets and plates and utensils. The air is very warm and very humid, and because of that you are used to some white and green ?moldy? stuff growing around FAST, but it was new to me. It's not fatal, but it's gross. Have a better ventilation in all small/closed spaces and re-check before yo let a new vacationer in. If you had it locked for 3 weeks, there's a chance it doesn't look the same way as when you left it :) You keep your territory clean and it shows, but the moment you step out of the gate you could still pick small papers and pieces of trash. Maybe you can cooperate with the restaurant owner next door. It will make both of your places look better and more attractive and it will not be much more work to clean up couple hundred feet around the front your property every now and than That will make it stand out for the whole island!

10 Days of Rest and Relaxation

5 of 5
We actually stayed here March 2012 but took me this long to write a review as I was looking through the internet and noticed this place that we stayed at in 2012 and thought I should have wrote a review. This place was amazing as it is pretty much ocean front and there are only about 7 houses in the entire gated community and at that time only 2-3 place were occupied so we basically had the whole grounds to ourselves. Very beautiful inside nice full kitchen with everything that you would need. The only thing that I would have liked to have had was a gas grill instead of the electric one. The pool was infinity pool which was way cool against the back drop of the ocean. The hot tub was great for relaxing in after a long day of diving as the dock is 500 feet from the front door of the house. We did have one unexpected visitor a sand crab but at 3 in the morning in the dark it looked like a tarantula and I nearly crapped myself to say the least lol. The first day or two we had a problem with the A/C in the master bedroom but that was fixed quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away and have a relaxing time and not have to worry about anything other than relaxing. Jim

We loved Casa Birdie!

5 of 5
We took three teenagers to Casa Birdie, and all of us loved it! It was so nice to have a home to go to after daily adventures. The home itself is cute, spacious, comfortable, and with all needed amenities. We especially loved the rooftop patio! It's a bit out of town, so a rental car is needed. Also, it's not terribly close to the beach, and we did have some trouble getting into some of the nearby beaches (they charge you to use their beaches). But, we would definitely stay there again, as it's a great home base! We had trouble with the refrigerator, but it was promptly fixed. We felt very well taken care of! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!
