Great House in a Wonderful Neighborhood

5 of 5
We've been renting Casa La Roja for over a dozen years and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay on each occasion. The house is very functional & comfortable whether for a week or for a month or more. Each year the owner makes a few improvements. The house is always well maintained, clean and in tip top shape when we arrive. We rent the first floor which features a full kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining area, a living room and a quiet spacious back patio with a built in brick grill. . There’s a separate apartment on the second floor containing two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room and large balcony; and, the third floor has a single bedroom. The house has tasteful furniture throughout, a television, and air conditioning in the bedrooms as well as fans in every room (we rarely need to use the air-conditioning). Although we enjoy Cozumel’s many fine restaurants we also cook in or take out from time to time. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking or you can use the built in brick grill on the back patio. For divers there’s a rinse tank for gear on the back patio and a secure area for hanging dive equipment. Casa La Roja is in the charming Corpus Christi neighborhood. We always feel as if we are part of the neighborhood instead of being in a gated tourist community. The house is about one block from the magnificent Corpus Christi church and the square in front of the church where there are often events, music, etc. This is a safe neighborhood – as is all of Cozumel – and the house is very secure The house is about a 25 minute walk from downtown (or a 5 minute car or cab ride). If you rent a car there is plenty of parking available on the street. Casa La Roja is about a 10 minute walk from two large supermarkets and excellent restaurants. Teresa, who cares for the house and looks after the guests, is attentive & always helps out with whatever is required. The house has internet and a television which is nice to occasionally get a news fix on CNN, BBC, Fox etc. We think this is a great house which we will continue to rent in the upcoming years. We’ve recommended it to several friends who have all thanked us for the recommendation.

Vista Bonita

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a great time and the unit was excellent. The unit did have a washer and dryer despite being informed prior to travel that it did not. The ground floor smelled of sewer gas multiple times in the morning and early afternoon. We were not informed that purified water was included and purchased our own. The dishwasher was broken. We had difficulty meeting up with the onsite representative and when we did reach him by phone he had a woman, "Nancy", contact us. "Nancy" contacted us by phone and was very rude and scolded us for keeping the air conditioning set too cold despite no instructions in the unit to the contrary. She told us that electricity was very expensive which we were well aware of but we were not provided with any instructions about the temperature setting. We have vacationed in Mexico and the Caribbean on multiple occasions and understand that the cost of utilities is high and other properties charged a surcharge for electricity if usage was excessive. "Nancy" also attempted to dissuade us from using the maid service despite the fact that it was included in the price of the unit. She said that it was a long drive for the maid which frankly wasn't our problem. Other than the unpleasant experience with Nancy we had a fantastic time.

Kid friendly and many amenities

4 of 5
Rating Details: I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: B4 in Costa del Sol is an amazing place to stay - spacious and modern! The staff were always prompt to help us with things that were required for our stay. So pleasant to be able to walk every morning on the safe road by the complex. However, the biggest issue that we had to manage was that there was an oversized empty hot tub on the roof that leaked into the living room after a rainfall. Maintenance tried to fix with some plaster tape - so it continued to drip our entire stay. However, our bigger concern was that it would crash through the ceiling of the living room while we were sitting there reading (with water buckets around us).
