Fantastic plot, great and relaxing setting!

5 of 5
Fantastic plot, great setting This was our repeat visit to TAO after having visited similar property late this year. The TAO area has grown somewhat larger (perhaps by one or two small buildings), however without losing its charm. It worked quite well as the prices have dropped from last year, and this particular apartment was just an awesome deal. The second floor condo we stayed at was plainly amazing, super clean, and well appointed. It was from the same owner and in the same building, however slightly more spacious. The kitchen was brand new and the selection and styling was perfect. It came with a great set of furniture made from some exotic jungle wood that I never saw before, which was quite refreshing. Also very liked that it came with contemporary window blinds and mosquito door nets which the other apartment did not provide. The balcony was outstanding, incorporating full and comfortable patio furniture. Bahia Principe resort has not changed all that much, but SIAN KAAN has proven (once again) best, food-wise. The overall resort is so large that it has plenty of everything, for everyone. This was one of the reasons for our return to Maya. The owner was kind enough to offer us a little extra discount as repeat guests (much appreciated), which had made my husband quite exited. I had thought the place was quite reasonably priced even before it, especially after checking what others in the resort had to offer Cheers,

Excellent vacation, great property

5 of 5
We enjoyed an excellent vacation to Riviera Maya and the quality of this condo was a major factor. Everything was as promised, it was clean and comfortable, with more room than we needed for just two of us. Although it was very economical to rent, we may return in the future with more family or friends as it could well accommodate them. The owner and onsite property manager were both extremely helpful and easy to work with. The entire complex grounds are clean and secure. The condo is located just next door to the TAO center, where a fitness center, morning yoga class, and Wifi service were all available free of charge. There is also a beautiful large pool in the condo complex which we had pretty much to ourselves when we used it. Of course we spent a good part of each day at the beach, so it was hard to find time to use the pool, but we managed several times. This was our 8th trip to Mexico, and 3rd time staying at the Bahia Principe SK resort. The other two times we went the all inclusive route, staying in the studio style condos around the lobby and restaurants. We had grown weary of the buffet dining, and we are not big drinkers, so the option of renting this condo not only gave us a much nicer, larger unit, it also saved us a lot of money, We enjoyed all the amenities of the resort except unlimited food and drink, and were able to eat at local restaurants and buy groceries at a fraction of the cost. As they say in Mexico, Perfecto!

5 of 5
We're not into resorts or the somewhat nutty and sleazy Cancun scene, this is the real Mexico. We rented a car and like to get out everyday. This was a perfect home base. Nice house, great community. Chemuyil is a lovely little Mexican town, with some good restaurants and a little store. Very handy. The beach is fabulous, clean and quiet, easily the nicest beach we've been to in Mexico. The nearby town of Akumal is great, with a great snorkeling beach, we saw lots of turtles, rays, barracuda, pufferfish, cuttlefish, and many others. Farther down the beach road to the end is another excellent snorkel site, it was like an aquarium. 5 min. towards Tulum is Dos Ojos cenotes. Take the snorkel gear, it's mind blowing. We did a day trip to Vallalidad. Great little colonial city, not too touristy, and the Cenote Maya on the way back was incredible. We like to eat dinner out and there was always great places to go between Akumal, Chemuyil and Tulum. In the morning I liked to get up early and have coffee on the front patio and watch the birds in the jungle. We'll definitely be back.
