Amazing Place

5 of 5
I stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time. This place is perfect for a stay in Akumal. The condo is right on the waterfront and the views are incredible. The living room window overlooks the water and you can snorkel right in front of the condo. We saw some needle fish and really bright tropical fish that were in the reef. There are also two pools there and we spent a lot of time in the pools relaxing after we would get back from a full day of exploring the nearby cenotes. It was a short walk to akumal beach where we swam with sea turtles for hours and sat on the beautiful beach. The condo was very comfortable with king size beds and a cozy futon in the living room. The place has a lot of local artwork that really makes it feel special. It was nice to be able to cook our own meals with the fully stocked kitchen and dining room area. But, there were also nearby restaurants with amazing seafood when we wanted to go out. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and kept the place looking beautiful. We didn't want to leave it was just such a beautiful vacation.

Great Half Moon Bay Condo

4 of 5
I'm a little late getting to this, but definitely want to recommend this condo for anyone interested in a stay on Half Moon Bay. It may be the best value on the bay...priced at a one bedroom level for two big bedrooms with huge baths, priced at a no-pool level for a property with a nice pool. It's clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and has a fabulous view. Most beds in Mexico are a little harder than I prefer, but these were more comfortable than most. We didn't really use the TV, but the Internet connection worked great throughout our stay. The only issue we had was that hot water lasted for only one shower, but it's a very warm climate and we managed to get cleaned off anyway!

Best Snorkling Spot

4 of 5
As everyone else has said, this condo has an amazing view and is very comfortable. AC is not needed, and what's more it's really nice to be able to smell the fresh air off the sea. Everything in the kitchen works so if you, like me, don't want to eat out every meal you can happily make your own food. The condo complex is very nice with two swimming pools and there is a grill you can borrow to cook your own fish (maybe that you caught yourself!). This condo is three flights up - hence the amazing breeze - which was fine for us but would be hard for older folks who have trouble with stairs. Akumal is a pleasant sleepy little town with good restaurants. We had such a good time that we decided to extend our stay from three to eight nights. A lot of the other folks staying here were without a car and seemed to be perfectly happy but we were really glad we rented a car. We chose this condo in large part because of the closeness to Yal Ku but would come back because of the fabulous location on the bay. This is definitely the best spot in town for snorkeling because of the arrangement of the coral, the depth of the bay and the fact the condo built a nice ramp for easy access to the deeper area of the bay. Tip: I recommend going grocery shopping in Playa or Tulum if you can because Akumal is a small town and the stores there are more expensive and less well stocked.
