Our trips out west renting homes have usually been in the mountains, and have always been great. But this was the first time we rented in a ranching area, what a great experience!!! From the moment we set eyes on the "Ponderosa", with the pond and the horses in the back pasture, who are friendly and love to be fed apples, and neighboring cows, to the wonderful cool mornings, you appreciate cool when you are from Missouri, watching the sun come up over the mountains, with a cup of coffee on the deck, to the cozy evenings in "our" house, it was a wonderful experience. The home itself is very comfortable and spacious, nicely furnished and extremely clean. The kitchen is well equipped to fix meals for families. We ate in all but one night, and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The bedrooms, especially the master suite are perfect. All items that were listed were provided and in great condition. The mountain views in every direction are beautiful and awe-inspiring. My husband enjoyed fishing in the Salt River at the back of the property, even caught some trout! Day trips to so many places are beautiful drives and convenient, the Tetons, Yellowstone, Jackson, hiking trails and driving off road in the National forests were great for sightseeing and picnics, be sure you have Forest service maps!!! And you are right next door to Idaho with gorgeous scenery, and a beautiful lake not far away. My niece and her husband came to visit from Lander, and were very impressed. And the owner couldn't have been more helpful, kind and accommodating in all our communications. He was available any time we had a question, and gave us many suggestions on things to do and areas to see. There is a large TV, altho there is no TV reception, but we brought movies, western ones were fun, and it was nice not to hear the news for a while!!! Our cell reception was sometimes spotty in the valley and mountains, but we managed to communicate when needed. The Wi-Fi works great. We would not hesitate to recommend this property, and feel lucky to have found it. It would be great for a family with kids looking for a new adventure, for girl or guy trips, for extended families, or to just get away from it all. Etna is in a very rural area, but small groceries and other stores are close enough. Alpine is a nice area with more shops. We found everything we needed for our visit. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! If you are looking for the "out west" experience, you will love this house.
