Well, the photos on-line were great, as were the reviews. I wondered..could it honestly be all it was talked up to be? Yes, it truly was. This unit has been very well cared for. The furnishings are high quality yet comfortable and rustic. Three generations of our family enjoyed every minute. Inside we had plenty of space, the cupboards were stocked with essentials and even laundry and cleaning products were available.......so thoughtful!! The back deck was private and we loved watching the para gliders float right above us. A small group of mule deer visited one evening as we were eating dinner, awesome.
Although not highlighted in our brochures, we decided to stop at the Calico restaurant for dinner on our first night. EXCELLENT. Something for everybody and the staff was exceptional. They were very busy and we did have a somewhat lengthy wait for the food, but it was worth it! My trout dish was delicious! For spectacular views, visit Dornan's for lunch.
If you must make a choice between spending your time in Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone, we would recommend Teton, hands down. The ferry ride at Jenny Lake and hike up the mountain to the Falls was perfect for all ages.
We enjoyed a concert at the Music Hall and the entertainment in "the commons". The extra bonus of a pool, hot tubs, tennis courts and easy walk to the village, made this property stand out above the rest.
Most of all we loved hiking in the mountains, enjoying the beauty of nature, and spending time together as a family...eating waffles at an elevation of 10,450 feet was pretty darn cool too! WOW
Thank you to Sandra at the Chamber of Commerce and the owner Tom who promised a wonderful vacation when I had trouble committing to this trip more than a year in advance.
