We had a total of 9 people in our family: my mom and dad, brother and his wife and 8 year old daughter and our family of four with kids 7 and 9. We all stayed at this magnificent house during the Martin Luther King weekend in January.
I never realized how big a 5,000 square foot house was until we stayed here. My word what a big house! We had to tell the kids to only play hide and seek in the top floor of the house because there were too many hiding spots. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were two big flat screen TVs in two different families rooms and still another big sitting room with a beautiful fireplace where we all could hangout after a day of skiing. All of the bedrooms, especially the master bedroom were plenty big.
Speaking of skiing, our chief concern was being too far away from the skiing. After staying in town and also staying at Teton Village during past vacations, we really enjoyed the change of pace of staying at a house with so much room. We were only about 20 minutes away from Teton Village and with the parking setup their being very easy, it was really easy to ski.
It is certainly beautiful. The house is surrounded by mature trees and is right on the Snake River. The wildlife, deer, elk, eagles, were around us during all whole stay.
There are lots of things for kids to do around the house. When we pulled into the house, our kids could not wait for the car to stop to get out and play in all the snow. The house sits on a huge lot and the owners of the house generously supply tubes so the kids (and adults) can slide down the little hill on their lot. We had a great time building snowmens outside. The snow is really dry, but the kids looked up (online of all places) how to keep the snow together for the snowman and by the end of the stay had built a whole village!
The owners of the house were very friendly and always available. We had been to Jackson before, but Bud gave us some great suggestions for other things to do and places to eat. Our family had so much fun that we just booked another ski trip to stay at the house.
