This lovely cottage is just as described. The central air is very efficient and there are lots of windows for light. It is roomy and well appointed. We arrived after dark but the lights were on and the kitchen was supplied with a snack basket and coffee for the morning. We stayed a week and the only thing missing was a hair dryer. This place has real charm: someone with an artistic eye has added interesting details. The location is definitely in OLD Galveston and while there isn't much within walking distance there are lots of restaurants within a couple of miles that are a quick drive. We went to Sunflower Cafe several times and loved it. Also Mosquito Cafe, Saltwater Grill and, for the special birthday dinner, Rudy and Paco which was wonderful. Even though it is a tourist town, people in Galveston were friendly and helpful. The immediate neighborhood is one "in transition." This cottage is one of the best houses on the block.
There is a small barking dog next door which was sometimes annoying but not it was not enough to keep me from highly recommending this cottage. A great value.
