My boyfriend and I, along with another couple, all in our late 20s, enjoyed a 6-night retreat at La Casa in May. Jennifer has provided almost any amenity you could think of! The complementary bottle of wine and goodie bowl with snacks and fruit was a nice touch when we arrived. Jennifer's decor is eclectic but welcoming and of course we loved all the clever paintings by "Todd."
The roof top lounge with hot tub and massive tv was great after a long day of activities. We also enjoyed having breakfast and mimosas up there every morning while we chatted about what to do that day. There is a mini-fridge up there to stash beverages so you don't have to traipse up and down the stairs to the kitchen for refills. The landscaping from the front yard and on the roof (giant potted palm trees) gave nice privacy from the other units without feeling closed in.
The listing was accurate regarding the location, and you definitely need a car to get around. Next time we would likely fly into the local airport in Aguadilla versus driving from SJU.
Our stay began the second week of May which is the beginning of the low season from what we were told. I think we saw about 10 cars in the entire complex of about 29 buildings. This was so nice because it felt like the entire property was ours. We went to the pool a few times and we were the only people there--amazing! We all agreed that "our" unit had the best landscaping and decor because we could see that many other units were not up to the same level.
Originally we planned to do more cooking but ended up eating a late brunch around 11, heading out for the day and then finding somewhere in downtown Rincon. We shopped at Edward's Coop which is on the way into town from the west, they actually stock gluten free bread and some organic products and produce. Lucky 13 BBQ is directly across the street from Edward's--definitely check them out (loved the Asian taco!) The Paradise Scuba's bio bay tour in La Parguera (~ 1.5 hrs away) was an awesome experience as they take you out on a scuba boat and you get to swim in the bay, as opposed to the kayak version near San Juan that you don't get to swim.
Overall an amazing trip complimented by the amazing villa. We would definitely stay here again. Jennifer was always available to answer questions and troubleshoot if we needed her. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and that our stay was was nothing less than perfect. Gracias por todo!
