Relaxing, beautiful, well-appointed stay

5 of 5
This place was perfect for my surprise getaway for my boyfriend. I wanted to take him somewhere relaxing, remote and peaceful. This is exactly what we got - the deck is the best place to spend your time and drink a glass of wine at sunset. The sunset was absolutely beautiful! Karen wasn't there this weekend but was more than helpful and caring via phone and text. The bed was SO comfortable we want to buy the same mattress and sheets now! The bathroom is very nice and modern. Despite being an older building of course, and being within a barn, all the modern amenities are there. If you aren't okay with seeing a spider or bug every now and then, then maybe you should just stay in a hotel. But if you're looking for authentic ranch life in a remote location, this is it. The interior is decorated perfectly. Plus, we found a bottle of wine outside our door which was a nice touch! If you are looking for something with rolling green hills, then be warned that whilst it's beautiful and romantic, the scenery is dry and barren. Don't go out to dinner - your time is best spent on the amazing deck, eating a home cooked meal or snacks and a glass of wine of course! Also, the dogs near the main quarters were extremely friendly but be warned about the dogs near the first house on the property - they were pretty vicious - they should definitely be kept inside when there are ranch guests, in my opinion, as we wanted to see the goats and donkeys by the road but the dogs got in our way! Everything else was wonderful though. It spurred my boyfriend to say he would like to get married on a similar property/setting!

Relaxing

5 of 5
We could not have been more pleased. From the moment we entered this home we felt relaxed. We felt right at home with all the comforts and extras that we found. You would expect to find run of the mill kitchenware and linens, towels, etc. but not here. Here we found handmade beautiful dishes, comfortable linens, lush towels and terry robes. We would not have had to bring a thing but clothes and food. The fields and ponds and surrounding areas are beautiful and quiet. Lots of places to sit and relax. Karen and Mike were more than attentive and were available for any of our needs. We wish we could have stayed much longer. Would love to return.

Wonderful Summer Getaway Home

5 of 5
This is a beautiful home. Very clean and spacious. Loved that there was an older section of the house with lots of charm and a section that was bright and modern. We spent a week there with extended family. 8 adults and 1 child and it was perfect for us. The more time we spent there the more we fell in love with the house. The sunroom and living room were large spaces for everyone to gather together. The library and bedrooms where cozy retreats when you needed some alone time. The pool and the grounds were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this home to a friend.
