Apologies to Ferida for the late posting! My family and I chose this wonderful apartment over Christmas in 2013-2014. I am an airline employee and we travel standby, so we needed to arrive a day earlier than originally booked. I called Ferida and she was very accommodating with booking the extra day.
We took the train in from CDG airport with no issues early on the Sunday. Ferida was out of town for the week with her own Christmas plans, but she had arranged for the housekeeper to give us a brief orientation.
The apartment was very neat, functional and QUIET! Short climb up stairs to the apartment from the street level, so if you have a family member that has trouble climbing, it may be a consideration.. One small water closet on the exterior of the apartment that our kids (one early 20's, one late teen) actually became more comfortable with than the interior restroom. Kitchen was well stocked and we actually had a very nice Christmas meal that we prepared (not too many restaurant's open) in house.
All beds were very comfortable and we couldn't hear a peep of noise from the street late at night.
The location is incredibly good. Short walks to the Louvre and Notre Dame. Longer walks to Eiffel Tower and other sites, but beautiful as most walks are on the river.
All in all, we had a great vacation which I attribute in large part to our choice of apartment.
We had a great time the four days and three nights we visited. The owners were more than helpful during our stay. They really went above and beyond our expectations. We had everything we needed to make smores on the counter when we arrived. Thank you Janice! The house was clean and just as described. There was more than enough space for our family, 2 adults and 7 children. The river views are amazing. This house truly has everything you will need on your stay. We over packed a lot of amenities that are already there! The only thing I could have used were some toddler toys, although with all of the new surroundings I am not sure he would've played with them anyway! The kids (ages 13 years-18 months) all had something to do. Puzzles, kayaks, watching the birds and playing on the pier were all favorites. We were lucky enough to have the owners staying next door so we were given a wealth of information about the area and even a boat ride to catch some fish! We visited a trout hatchery nearby which the kids really enjoyed. We also took a trip over to Hershey's Chocolate world which was about 20-30 minutes away. The house is near a highway and a train track, but neither bothered us on our stay. In fact we kind of liked hearing the trains go by since we do have many where we live. It was very peaceful, we only wished we could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and if we return it will be for more than just a couple of days!
We stayed at Stonehenge for a weekend and loved it. There are 5 queen beds so it can sleep 10 easily. We were 15 but we were able to find nooks and crannies so we could all fit in. It is a very warm and cozy cabin built while preserving the natural elements of the area. The owners are wonderful people and we had a chance to interact with them a bit which added to our appreciation of the cabin as they apparently built it by hand. The hot tub outside was great as it allowed us to relax both evenings after a long day out. There is a small negative - the place is about a 15 min drive to the casinos (but it is balanced by the beautiful location which would not be possible if the place was closer to the heart of town). I would definitely stay here again.
