Perfection (or how we had the best family vacation week ever!)

5 of 5
What can you say about a perfect experience...a warm & inviting cabin in the mountains, a resort full of stuff to do & every single person we encountered was lovely and/or having a great time. Laurie M popped in the first day to say "Hey" and be sure we had everything & to bring us a hard copy of the golf cart rental agreement. Note: you simply MUST rent to golf cart if it is offered - it saves wear & tear on cars & is a "more green" way to go. Loved the keyless door lock for the entry - we customized to something our entire party could easily remember & worked like a charm. We were a somewhat small party - 6 adults & a 2 1/2 year old - so plenty of room for all & lots of options for things to see/do & places to go or just chillax. My husband and brother hit the links both at the resort and also at Apple Valley - they loved it!. The pool, the beach, the playground - my little niece was in her glory (gotta love the 1 foot fenced in kiddie pool). The cabin itself was immaculate & so totally user friendly - we were spoiled to have not one or 2 but 4 fridges available...we only used 2 and it was so convenient that they were both in the kitchen itself. The gas grill worked like a charm. In honor of the location - one night we all watch the DVD of Dirty Dancing & then there was the playing of pool several nights in a row. We are some big time kitchen/cooking/grilling folks (it is how we relax & enjoy our time together) - was so pleasantly surprised at how well stocked things were - pots n pans galore; same w/ serving dishes & even included toliet tissue & paper towels (we schelpped everything imaginable as we had no idea what we would find). Even the bath towels were top notch - I travel a lot and I have had paper thin in bathrooms - these were yummy, as were the beds & bed linens. Think the only things we'd change is 1) stay twice as long to take advantage of everything & 2) have just a few more of the family (thinking of our nephews) come join us...lots of room & stuff to do. We can highly recommend this fabulous property & these wonderful owners to you!!

We had a great time on our holiday and would highly reccommend this cabin. We had everything we needed and the view was amazing! We had 9 people in this cabin and there was planty of space. The steam shower was awesome! We all enjoyed the game room, and spent a lot of hours playing pinball and pool. We have created memories for a life time! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! Don't hestitate just book this one!

Acadia Maine

5 of 5
My husband, 2 children, ages 15 and 13, and myself spent a wonderful week in this gorgeous home. The house is in a very peaceful setting overlooking Frenchman Bay. It could not have been more perfect. The house is even more lovely than the pictures depict. The decorating touches add so much to the overall feel of the home. The house was well stocked and we wanted for nothing. The owner, Rich, was always very helpful and a pleasure to work with. We often saw eagles and harbor porpoises from the shoreline. We did our first sea kayaking trip, which was fun. We spent 3 full days in Acadia on Mt. Desert Island. Did some great hikes, our favorites being the Beehive and Precipice Trails. We swam (briefly) at Sand Beach; the water is only 55 degrees! But after a long hike, it felt great. We had popovers at Jordon Pond House which is a must do! We tried to watch the sunset from Cadillac Mountain, but it was too cloudy that day. We did have a very nice sunset our first night at the house. We also spent time at the part of Acadia at Schoodic peninsula. Did a nice hike there and also watched the waves crash along the rocks. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this little slice of heaven.
