Perfect Mountain Cabin

5 of 5
We were looking for a weekend getaway to the mountains for some fall foliage. It was our first visit to Maggie Valley, and we definitely will be going back, and staying at Tom & Sue's properties. The cabin was spotless, the location was perfect. Minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, close to Biltmore, and the Smokey Mountain Park. The cabin was amazint. Every kitchen appliance (and then some) was provided, a gas grill, hot tub, great deck surrounding nearly the entire cabin. Never heard the neighbors, and felt comfy, cozy, and private. Tom and Sue have truly have thought of everything. They even got the kids to unload the car with an awesome homemade chocolate chip cookie bribe upon our arrival. Great cabin, outstanding location, thoughtful owners...we could not ask for a better trip. Highly, highly recommend this cabin!

Peaceful, relaxing... mixed with some adventure!

5 of 5
We just got back from an awesome week-long stay at this beautiful cabin. Dennis, the owner, makes sure you have everything one would need for a great stay. He even gave us advise on where to take our car when we thought we were having car trouble. Luckily, it was fixable with just a stop at O'Reilly's. We have stayed at several cabins in the past and this was BY FAR the most well-stocked and definitely the cleanest...and with the most down to earth, personable owner. You can tell that Dennis takes alot of pride in his cabin and he truly wants others to enjoy it. He also sent out the most complete list of things to do and even emailed us a heads up the week before we left to let us know what was going on in the area for the week we would be staying. That was so appreciated and it's little things like that will always make this cabin stand out. The first two days we were there, we just enjoyed lounging around the cabin, sitting on the deck by the pond...fishing and sunning. One day we had the most beautiful rain storm and we sat on the porch on the rocking chairs... listening to the rain and thunder. The porch is wide with a large overhang, so we stayed completely dry while the rain pounded down all around us. That will be a great memory. When we were ready to leave the cabin for the day, we chose to go horseback riding. Luckily, Dennis had Southeast Pack Trips as a suggested activity on his website. Larry, the owner, took us on the most amazing 1/2 day adventure through beautiful trails and forest and creeks in Big South Fork and on his surrounding land. It was the best horseback riding we ever experienced! He customized our trip to be exactly what we wanted to do. We told him we wanted more adventure and he definitely gave us that! The horses were beautiful and well trained. The next day we went on a "River and Rail" all day trip with Sheltowee Trace Outfitters. It was an 8 hr day trip that first took us on the Big South Fork Railway through the old coal mining towns and then canoeing down the river for about 2 hrs. It was very well organized and also included a nice packed lunch in a souvenir lunch bag. We had a wonderful and memorable time at Tom T Hall cabin. Thanks Dennis, for sharing your beautiful spot in the world! We hope to come back for a visit again.

Lovely mountain cabin

Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We found everything we needed within the home to have a comfortable stay. I appreciate that the beds were made and plenty of additional linens were available (something lacking in previous VRBO rentals we have used). The location was beautiful! The home was easy to find and access upon our arrival. Thank you for the regular communication and for checking in with us after our arrival. This great care makes me hope we are able to stay at one of your homes again when we travel to the mountains from California!
