Great visit!

5 of 5
This place was an excellent choice for our vacation. It had all the amenities we could expect and hope for. We were there for four full days & two partial days, with our extended family of six adults, two two-year olds and one infant. Towards Egg Harbor there is the Frank E. Murphy County Park, which claims 1600 feet of sandy beach; the two-year olds had a great time there. They also enjoyed the walk across the bay bridge in Sturgeon Bay (with the Maritime museum at one end). On that walk we had a tasty burrito at Door County's only food truck (Nistebox--run by a Norwegian-speaking couple--complete with Norwegian dictionary to browse while waiting for the burrito to be readied). The screened-in porch on the house was a great place to sit and watch the sunsets. Tim was a very generous host. He had firewood available & we had a very enjoyable last night with dinner on the 2nd floor deck followed by "Smores" around the fire down by the bay.

Great ... with a couple caveats

4 of 5
We enjoyed 5 wonderful days at this log cabin, which - as others have said - is as described. Fred was prompt and helpful in responding to our questions in advance of our arrival. A couple things you should know: the ladder to the loft is steep, making it a challenge for anyone who may have to make a trip to the bathroom during the night. For persons who have challenges with fragrances, know that we found the bedroom on the ground floor had a fairly strong mold smell, which is understandable for an older cabin. In addition, the strong fragrance of odor eliminators placed throughout the cabin was a challenge for us, since we're sensitive to strong smells. Fortunately the weather was nice, so we could keep the windows open to provide fresh air. The cabin contains fun and remarkable family memorabilia, which provides for interesting reading. One final piece: it took a follow-up email and two weeks to get our deposit back, a bit of a surprise, given how responsive Fred was on the front end.
