" We've returned to Door County many times over the past 30 years and stayed in a number of different places, and we have a new favorite. So many Door county accommodations are not on the water, and that's one of the reasons we enjoyed Sully's so much. I loved having my morning coffee on the screened porch sitting in a very comfy chair looking out on the bay. My son liked napping on the hammock near the water. And everyone enjoyed our dinners on the deck. With the sun and the view it doesn't get any better, unless you catch a sunset sitting around a bonfire in the fire pit on the shore. That was the best!
The guys golfed at the Peninsula State Park course in Ephraim, we did a fish boil in Fish Creek, had lunch at the Cookery and frozen custard at "Not Licked Yet", which are some of our family traditions. And the wine tasting this year was at Door Peninsula winery which is just a few miles up the road. But mostly we enjoyed our "laid back" time at the house catching up with family.
For our party of 7 adults there was plenty of space for doing things together or separately. With the porch, the deck, the living room and the downstairs family room, everyone could get away to do their own thing. On two evenings we served dinner to 15 people. With all the space and that beautiful, well equipped kitchen, it was a breeze. It's a very thoughtfully and well designed home and so much more then the usual vacation rental. When I saw the pictures on the web, I thought it looked good, but walking in, I knew that the pictures didn't do it justice. It's a great place for a vacation and close to many of the attractions Door County has to offer. "
