Staging of an Engagement Party

5 of 5
Thankfully, I had the opportunity to receive this amazing package at the 2014 March of Dimes Chef's Signature Auction at the newly renovated Edgewater Hotel in Madison WI. Once you receive your bidding item you begin to think how will I share this opportunity after supporting a touching cause. My thoughts were brief and simple....to host my nieces engagement party. My niece, Heather and her fiance Matt sent me their guest list and the e-vite was sent. We arrived Thursday eve to an opened warm home; let me restate that, indeed it is was a Mansion. It was simply breathtaking in the dark and we couldn't wait until the morning sunrise. We had to tour before even unpacking the car. We visited each room and amazed with everyone perfectly graced with gadgets and trinkets. We picked our rooms; that wasn't too hard since they were all welcoming. We enjoyed a glass of wine in front of one of the many fireplaces and called it a day. The experience of the sunrise with the brisk March air across Lake Michigan was incredible. There were pictures, tours and never ending comments as the guests arrived throughout the day. We all managed to prepare and enjoy our first grilled meal of the season and finished the evening in the Pub in the basement. Many tales were told and endless games played. If you run out of things to do without leaving the house it is your own misfortune. Remember to abide by all signs in the house! We even decided that it was like the game CLUE and captured the perfect picture. With a tour of the area we visited the Blind Horse winery along with the Black Pig Pub, both a must. Saturday evening, Chef Cathy Newton prepared amazing appetizers followed by plated dinners and deliciously topped off with creme brulee, Heather's favorite. Chef Cathy was delightful and accommodated our WI Badger Fans as we cheered on the Badgers as they entered into the Final Four! The question would be which room did we watch the game!! All good moments come to a close with fond memories. If you and yours have the opportunity, don't miss this experience. It too is a must! What goes on in the Mansion stays in the Mansion on Lake Michigan. Cheers to the Castino's for their involvement in the Sheboygan community and beyond.

Perfect in every way!

5 of 5
I'm gonna try and not sound like I am advertising this or something, but it's gonna be difficult! We LOVED this place so much it was hard to leave. Gail and her partner have done a fantastic job modernizing and decorating, the view was one of the best around, I found myself just staring out the windows taking it all in. The unit was very clean, neat and organized. Perfect location as well! in addition having a Publix Market right behind the building couldn't have been more convenient. I hope we get more work meetings in Milwaukee if for no reason other than to have an excuse to stay again. M. Flores

Terrific location and lovely apartment

5 of 5
Cute, Contemporary apartment in the country. This apartment was more than spacious for two people - ( we were shocked at the size relative to our condo in Chicago) with two bed rooms and great bed. High ceilings, bright and modern feel and furnishings and all seemed brand new. Kitchen has all the basics- but there is no need since the best restaurant in town is right below on the main Street -As a regular visitors to Elkhart Lake this was gem if you want an alternative to the hotels or condos.
