Wonderful rustic retreat!

5 of 5
My wife and I spent a fantastic Christmas getting away from it all in this secluded cabin. If you are looking for simple, quiet comfort away from city lights and noise, this is a good option for you. The cabin is cozy; a living area with kitchen, two small bedrooms, and bathroom. Heat is by a wood stove which controls the temperature nicely, and I found the tasks of bringing in wood and lighting a fire in the morning very refreshing. We had a lot of privacy but felt good knowing that the owners, Robert and Linda, lived close by. They also brought us treats on Christmas day! We will definitely be back.

An all around wonderful place to stay.

My 14 year old son and I were looking for the perfect cabin to have a father and son "North woods getaway" . We found it. This entire area had no shortage of activities and sights to keep you busy. The cabin was perfect, clean cozy and all the comforts of any home. Neil the owner goes above and beyond to make your stay pleasant, he sends out a great info packet prior to your arrival. We took his advice on many of these ideas and were never let down. He doesn't stop there, he was available by phone or text for any questions we had during our weekend. I'm already trying to figure out how I can get back there without my wife getting angry!! LOL. Thanks Neil, hope to meet you next time were up. Frank T.

Perfect! Charming, cozy cabin in a great area

5 of 5
It's impossible for the photos to show just how great this place is. A perfect set-up for a kid-friendly vacation. The sleeping loft is stocked with "awesome Legos" (according to our 4 year old), other toys and games, and two comfy beds. The main cabin area has two separate sitting areas: one with TV (which never got turned on) and another with a gas fireplace and great view of the river. The kitchen is efficient but full sized and nicely appointed with everything we needed. The adjacent creek is a highlight -- it was only about a foot and a half deep so it felt safe and we spent a lot of time on the dock casting a fishing pole and watching a river otter explore. The fire pit provided the opportunity to stay outside later listening to the creek and roasting marshmallows in the October chill. The Wolf River trail is accessible directly across the main road. We biked about 14 miles on a smooth, wide path running parallel the river just west of highway 55 with incredible views and fall color. We also spent a day hiking trails around Jack Lake which was about a 25 minute drive away but well worth it. Did a little fishing on Pickerel Lake which was a short 10-15 drive from the cabin. We didn't even scratch the surface of all there is to explore so we'll be back for sure! This place felt very much like a cabin with all the modern convenience but still a true get-away in a unique space in a peaceful, private setting. It's well cared for, super clean, and makes for a perfect weekend with kids or kid-free! Thanks so much, David!!!
