Great North Escape

5 of 5
This is our 4th trip to Loon Point. The last two times we stayed two weeks and could have stayed longer. It is peaceful, fun, and lots of fresh air. There are over 400 miles of ATV trails out the back door and town is a secluded mile away. We used both the lodge and the cabin and both were comfortable for the large family gathering. Our grandkids spent the days swimming in the lake while moms floated around them and dads went fishing. If you don't want to fish, swim, hike or ride ATVs, there are plenty of places to visit including Mercer, Minocqua, Lac Du Flambeau and Hurley to name a few. There are plenty of restaurants in the area for those who don't want to cook. For those that do, the kitchen is full service. and there is plenty of seating in the dining room. Evenings around the campfire overlooking the lake were a favorite with smores, fireworks and plenty of stories about the days adventures. And, even if it rains, you can rack up the balls on the pool table in the rec room over the boathouse for a game of eight ball. Loon Point is the "up north" place to go. We hope to return for many more years of family fun. -Bob and Becky, Mpls., MN
