Perfect! Charming, cozy cabin in a great area

5 of 5
It's impossible for the photos to show just how great this place is. A perfect set-up for a kid-friendly vacation. The sleeping loft is stocked with "awesome Legos" (according to our 4 year old), other toys and games, and two comfy beds. The main cabin area has two separate sitting areas: one with TV (which never got turned on) and another with a gas fireplace and great view of the river. The kitchen is efficient but full sized and nicely appointed with everything we needed. The adjacent creek is a highlight -- it was only about a foot and a half deep so it felt safe and we spent a lot of time on the dock casting a fishing pole and watching a river otter explore. The fire pit provided the opportunity to stay outside later listening to the creek and roasting marshmallows in the October chill. The Wolf River trail is accessible directly across the main road. We biked about 14 miles on a smooth, wide path running parallel the river just west of highway 55 with incredible views and fall color. We also spent a day hiking trails around Jack Lake which was about a 25 minute drive away but well worth it. Did a little fishing on Pickerel Lake which was a short 10-15 drive from the cabin. We didn't even scratch the surface of all there is to explore so we'll be back for sure! This place felt very much like a cabin with all the modern convenience but still a true get-away in a unique space in a peaceful, private setting. It's well cared for, super clean, and makes for a perfect weekend with kids or kid-free! Thanks so much, David!!!

Lots of room and privacy

5 of 5
We drove from Chicago and it worked out great for us over Labor Day Weekend. We had 4 people and there was plenty of room. Caught some perch off of the rowboat. The cabin is very clean and it's on a large piece of land that's right on the water. We cooked on the gas grill and then sat by the huge fire pit after the sun went down. There's also a lot to do in the area. We drove about 45 mins north to the Menominee River for some great river rafting. We were going to rent ATV's in town but it was too late in the day. Great trip.

An absolutely amazing place to stay!

5 of 5
We spent the week of July 4th at Pine Haven during our annual trip to Lakewood from the Atlanta, GA area. We love coming to the northwoods at this time of year since the weather is refreshingly cool (compared to Atlanta) and this cabin is exactly what we were looking for. The craftsmanship of the home is beautiful and comfortable and there was nothing nicer than sitting on the deck in the morning enjoying our coffee while the loons sang on the three adjacent lakes, the cows roamed the meadows in front of us, etc. In the evenings we enjoyed the firepit and listened to the crickets...it's amazing how quiet and secluded you feel, while being only 10 minutes from the main town. The hosts were also wonderful, this cabin is part of a legendary resort in the area and the meticulous care that they take of the grounds is wonderful. When you stay here you have access to 4+ lakes and each one has rowboats and some have canoes and paddleboats that you can use. Our family also enjoyed the weekly hayride through the expansive 170 acres and although we had other plans and couldn't join them for dessert, we heard from other people that it is not to be missed! There is no better place to stay in the Lakewood/Mountain area!
