PERFECT SNOWSHOE VACATION

5 of 5
My wife and I were looking for a rental, one that was on the mountain and would accommodate the two of us and our two dogs. While this house is set up for larger parties, it didn't feel like we were in "too much house" for just us and the dogs. All of our criteria were met: not too busy of an area, can't see the neighbors, nice views (this might have been the best part), a good kitchen, comfortable living room / common area with a fireplace and a space for the dogs to run around and do their business. The owner provided some great recommendations in terms of where to eat, rent snowboard/ski equipment and who to see for more detailed guidance on all of the above. Additionally, he was very adamant about calling him with any questions we had. Located just a couple miles from the Snowshoe Village, we were exactly where we wanted to be: close to the village, but not right in the middle if the hustle and bustle; just a short walk from multiple trail heads for walking the dogs and exploring the woods. The bedrooms were cozy and comfy, as were the couches and lounge chair. Bathrooms were clean and up to date. It was nice to just turn off the phones, take it day by day and enjoy being secluded up on the mountain fro a week. All in all, this house left nothing to be desired and we will definitely be visiting again for both winter and summer vacations. HIghly recommend going in the middle of the week, as the rush seemed to be leaving as we arrived on Monday and arriving as we left on Friday. Considerations: There is zero cell service for Verizon and most other carriers. There is a land line with free long distance at the house. Free wifi and satellite TV are also provided. 4-wheel drive. Long, steep, winding stairway from driveway to front door (as is the same for most all the single-family homes outside of the village). Not much of a yard. The driveway is big enough for 4-6 vehicles, though it would be tight for turning around to exit wit more than just 2-3 vehicles. Bring your own groceries…the stores there have your basics, but not everything you'd want if you're trying to do all your own cooking. Bring your own DVDs if you want to watch movies. Hit up the Depot in the Village for guidance on any and all Q's regarding what to do and how to do it - ski/snowboard/snow mobile, etc.

GREAT HOUSE!!

4 of 5
The house was great. It had everything you could need from kitchen utensils and appliances to playing cards and firewood. With 3 queen beds and a king sized bed the house is great for groups of couples without kids needing bunk beds or twin beds. Everything was in immaculate condition when we arrived and I just could not have been more pleased with our rental. The location was remote but not too far away to be inconvenient and every night a group of deer would come and graze in the yard. the only downsides: - You may want to bring in firewood for the fireplace. It rained one day while we were there and most of the firewood got wet, where it was stacked outside. - It can be a little hard to find at night so you're better off arriving during the day. - The hot tub had a problem with not wanting to stay on at night but for some odd reason this only happened late at night. It worked fine during the days and maintenance came out to check it one day and it was working fine. It was more odd than anything else. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RENTAL TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO STAY!!
