PURE LUXURY: A GREAT entertainment home!

5 of 5
What a FANTASTIC vacation home! My husband and I were able to take advantage of a last minute cancellation of a week long rental, so we had this truely luxurious home to ourselves! We have rented "luxury" vacation homes all over the US and this is by far the very best home we have vacationed in. The weather didn't cooperate the first few days, so we had a BLAST playing video games on the big screen in the game room, playing hockey "fooseball", watching movies on the giant movie screen in the main living room, and dancing with the "dance party" lighting! My husband used the sauna and we both ejoyed looking out over the valley from the hot tub on the deck. We did some hiking and shopping (such a beautiful area to visit!), but you wouldn't even need to leave this house to have a great vacation. The wifi for our Apple iDevices was a little slow (you are in the mountains!), but we were able to use the main computer for our web browsing. We are already planning on coming back with friends and family, and want to stay at their other properties, too.

The perfect estate home for our Ski Vacation

5 of 5
My family and I were absolutely fascinated by the beauty, décor, and openness of Mack’s Shack estate log cabin. Believe me when I say the pictures capture a glimpse of how stunning and well maintained the owners keep the estate. Each room has its own personality that keeps true to the log cabin architecture. The grounds of the home are very nicely landscaped and the abundance of trees at an ideal distance from the home adds to the beauty of the property. The owners of the home were very attentive and responded to my inquiries within minutes. As our first ski trip to Snowshoe, my family and I were completely satisfied and could not have asked for a better vacation in West Virginia. We are already planning for a summer trip and second ski vacation at Snowshoe and our only choice is Mack’s Shack. Thank you Sharon for making our family vacation an unforgettable experience.

Great vacation

5 of 5
We stayed here for a few days with my inlaws, 3 kids and 3 dogs. We arrived at dusk and missed the entrance and ended up at the top of the mountain! One quick call (thank you David and AT&T) and we got directions (which ARE on the website -- just look more carefully than we did!). One horse greeted us as soon as we turned onto the property and from a distance we could see the lights on in the house. It was chilly when we arrived but the house heat was cranked and every room was very warm, we had to turn the heat down to sleep. The owners met us as soon as we arrived and helped us get situated -- quick and friendly but not invasive -- "holler if you need us" kind of greeting. Just right. Woke in the morning to a friendly dog and some cats mulling about the front door and they would come in and out -- not the least bit phased by our dogs. The kids really loved it -- hiking, fishing, hanging out with the horses and turkeys. Stargazing off the porch at night -- it was really nice. Not luxurious but it's not advertised as the Four Seasons. The kitchen is fine for cooking meals but we did head into town for lunch and there is a cute little downtown; then we stopped at Lost World caverns on the way out of town. We'll certainly visit again. The owners were building a treehouse when we were there and I'd love to see it finished!
