We think this place is simply fantastic. From the moment we arrived, you can smell the fresh pine from the wood paneling which lines the entire cabin. It's a cozy and enticing place with a great view of the mountains. This trip was a simple ride from DC and Lost River is a rural wonderland. What a great time we had at your cagbn. Thanks for your hospitality. Daniel

We stayed here with 3 other couples from the DC/MD area for two nights. It was absolutely perfect for a relaxing weekend. The views are indeed beautiful, with the screened in porch our favorite place to gather in the morning and evenings. There's everything you could possibly want in the kitchen (including 2 dishwashers!) and three beautiful, very spacious floors. You can feel very comfortable with 8 people in the house, and it's easy to see how families with children would appreciate the space. Every guest remarked at how comfortable the beds were and how beautiful the inside and surroundings of the cabin were. Nearby, Big Schloss is a great in and out hike to a craggy and breathtaking overlook, and there's fine dining at the Guest House and good sandwiches at the Lost River Inn. We definitely recommend a stop by the Lost River Trading Post, which is really a carefully curated antique and curious goods store owned by exurbanites from DC. Lost River's a gem more and more people are going to hear about soon. Get here while it's still the quiet retreat we love--and do yourself a favor by renting this cabin!

The quiet and cozy Lost River Cabin was the perfect setting to rest, recuperate, and reconnect with my husband. The cabin is outfitted with everything you could possibly need, and truly felt like a home away from home. Fun adventures included hiking at Lost River State Park, a visit to Smokehole Taverns, and dinner at the Guest House where we were treated like a King and Queen. We would recommend this cabin to anyone needing a break from it all. We can't wait to go back!
